Gamble looks a fantastic prospect. Not sure why some people are jumping up and down at his supporters. Hopefully he gets a chance in first grade because he won’t let Ivan down.

i think Gamble is a great player. from what i have seen (few foxtel ISP games) he is a real stand out and a class above that grade.

its a testament to the depth the club has that he isnt the starting 6 and also to how well Benji has been playing. Reynolds' cameo at dummy half also indicates to me that Gamble could very well be in with a look at 6 later on.

not meaning to just say without the facts, but I'm pretty sure a while back (when he was signed) i read that he has played basically every position in the backline up here (Redcliffe i think he came from?) and as such i agree he is a perfect 14.

Godinet has really lost me. i dont think he is up to standard, so maybe even relief dummy half for Gamble?

personally, i would like to see him start playing in the centres in ISP as i think that the squads stocks in this position are possibly the thinnest and a position i think he could fit into in the starting 13. Im not really a Kevvie fan, but he has done pretty well this season and deserves his spot. Marsters is a given in the centres at this point, but I would be playing Gamble in the centres readying him for first grade there.

i just think he is good enough to be in the 17 whatever his role may be.

They are posted each week on the nswrl.com.au site, this is Round 12: https://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2018/05/2 ... isp-rd-12/

Difficult to get an idea of season stats as they're only game by game, but better than nothing I guess.

As mentioned the nswrl.com page has some game by game stats.

For my own interest i put these together the week everyone started with the Gamble cant tackle talk. I went though each of the tackle %'s for the ISP halves that week.

The 5/8's were as follows

15 -5 Jaeman Salmon 33% (% MISSED)

16 -4 Josh Cleeland 25%

16 -4 Tyrone May 25%

20-4 Jai Field 20%

18 – 3 Jackson Hastings 17%

6- 1 Brad Abbey 17%

21 – 3 Jack Johns 14

28 -4 Connor Tracey 14%

23-3 Tyson Gamble 13%

22-2 Kyle Flanagan 9%

18 -1 Sean O'Sullivan 6%

23-0 Chanel Harris-Tavita 0%

With Benji probable moving on at seasons end maybe the brains trust want him to play out the season in ISP to gain experience before another off season . Has the talent and build and seems to be able to stay healthy body wise which is a huge bonus .. time will tell I think he signed for a couple of seasons.

It would be interesting to see how Gamble went with Brooks dominating and doing the organising at half. Gamble played his best football in ISP earlier in the season when Drinkwater was playing the same way as Brooks. When Gamble had to take on the role of main playmaker his form fell away.

Yes, this is what plays on my mind... with a good half back beside him, Gamble can threaten the line quite effectively. When he's playing well he straightens the play up, takes the line on, creates options.

Kind of like the opposite of Benji, who does my head in with his reluctance to play straight and to the line!

He has been compared to Scott Hill, it's a fair comparison.

Hill was always the number 2. Needed an organising half. Gamble is no different.
