The dogs want to offload Morris. This makes sense. Considering how often Josh Dugan is injured Morris would be a good buy for them and probably will come cheaply (as the Dogs will backend a lot of his contract as they need to sign Foran and Woods).

MOYLAN SHARKS-TIGERS OFFERS, MALONEY SWAP

Matt Moylan has offers to leave Penrith for Cronulla and Wests Tigers - with a move possibly coming about via a player swap for Sharks premiership winner James Maloney.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported the developments, saying Moylan had a four-year, $3.6 million deal tabled by the Sharks that was on the brink of being sealed, plus a three-year, $2.5 million offer from Wests Tigers - coached by his old Panthers mentor Ivan Cleary.

With Moylan, 26, keen on playing five-eighth and Josh Reynolds locked in as Tigers No.6 next season, the joint venture is considered a long shot. Moylan could slot straight in at five-eighth should he swap places with Maloney, who had a spat with Cronulla this year over his relatively low pay of about $600,000 per season.

Penrith are reluctant to let Moylan walk without compensation, the SMH reports, hence the Maloney swap idea - while a transfer fee of $250,000 per season left on Moylan’s four-year deal ($1 million) may be another option.

Should the Sharks try to lure Moylan without sending Maloney to the Panthers, Cronulla’s line-up plans for next season would look different.

Foxsports.com.au’s Market Watch reported last week that the Sharks were interested in Moylan as a fullback short-term, due to some teething problems with Test winger Valentine Holmes in the No.1 jersey. Moylan could then move to No.6 and Holmes back to No.1 should Maloney end his contract and move on after next season.

While speculation is raging, Penrith’s first preference remains to keep Moylan at the club, despite this situation arising over dissatisfaction with his attitude.

Fifita .. $$ ??
Graham .. $$ ??
Holmes .. $$ ??
Dugan .. $$ ??

Top $$$ for Tony Williams? What, to play reserve grade? Constant complaints about other clubs salary caps gets even more tiring than the Brooks and JT bashing.

I think the Sharks are recruiting well. Aaron Gray is the best centre they have very underrated. Dugan is a fullback, Holmes a winger. They want to get rid of Maloney he wants huge money close to 1m a season.
Moylan is the cheaper option but it's a mistake he's not a first grade 5/8.

Interesting way of dealing with Moylan's "mental health issues"

Reading the article Gus said that Griffinn had done a great job.

But weren't Penrith premiership favourites at the start of the season? Then Griffin had the side underperforming and he tried to make up the excuse "anyone who thought this side could win a premiership, knows nothing about rugby league."

Imagine what that statement from the coach does for the players' confidence.

Griffin shouldn't have been re-signed. You hear all the commentators say that Penrith have the most talent in the competition but they didn't challenge the top 4 sides.

Penrith ranked 9th for defence and 16th for tackle efficiency.

Defence wins you premierships and Penrith don't have the defence to challenge for the title.

After a few weeks at the Tigers Ivan significantly improved our defence. Griffin has been at the Panthers for 2 years and their defence has not been good enough to win a premiership.

Panthers have been underperforming with the team that they have so therefore he should not have been re-signed.

Bad move from Penrith, should've stuck with Ivan!

But but, they were going to punt Griffin before Moylan.
