Maybe N Cleary signing with us is not as close as some of us thought......,
Austin isn't gonna play at 7..... this signing will have no bearing on Nathan Cleary whatsoever
Hope you’re right Teddy. Just seems we have enough halves atm. Maybe if he comes he will be a centre/fullback???
I'd like to see him at centre, for the fullback role I'd like us to sign a specialist fullback.

Nathan Cleary will have zero influence, I'm positive the club will go hard for him regardless
I thought to play centre you had to be able, and willing, to pass.

Ok controversial opinion.
I would take him. But can't see where he would fit.

5/8 is out, unless Reynolds injuries force an early retirement.
So remove NR6 from his jersey, he could make a great center.
Players like SKD and Jamie Lyon play Center a little like a 5/8. Moving Austin to Center would boost our attack, he is a decent unit and while he needs coaching in Defense. He can handle the physical brunt.

Would be a great upgrade on Kevie, would hate to see it but maybe more attack then Marsters.

Now we won't sign this guy. We have Reynolds. Austin is leaving Canberra because he wasn't selected and if he can't cope with not being selected. He will not fit with Cleary(it must be an ex Penrith link).
That being said: he is NOT moses. Moses left us for dead. We punted Austin to keep Moses.
All I have heard, Austin has had a great attitude and a real community builder.

We need to save our money for N Cleary. We won't sign him unless he comes dirt cheap. If dirt cheap and/or Canberra paying the load. Hell yes.

It's not like he won't pass, especially under Cleary...

Ivan knows his game better than any of us, if he does come I'm willing to trust Cleary's judgement on what position he will play best at

Imagine if Ivan got him to pass , the TPA from the glue removal company would be massive

Austin played a lot of football for the Panthers at lock. Could he be considered as an edge running no. 13? If he was signed, I can see him as a lock or centre. Of course, it's always good to have competition and depth....

Don't believe we have offered Austin anything at all let alone 4 years! It makes no sense at all. Probably Milky lining us up with another April fools joke. ;)

No idea where this story has come from. Well off my radar if true, but I absolutely believe it isn’t true.

It’s important to remember that players will constantly be linked with the Tigers coming up to the deadline as they both have the most room in the cap. Player managers will also put out fake stories to drive players prices up. So be wary.

Side note on Moses - Knowing most of the inner details of the events that unfolded last year, I hold him In a higher regard than I do for Woods, Tedesco and some other figures in those parties. Not that my opinion means much...

Thanks for clarifying the Blake Austin situation anyway Baze. It makes no sense whatsoever for him to come back to the Tigers.

Souths and West’s don’t need him.

The Bunnies have Cody Walker (Gun) at 5/8, Johnstone at full back and Inglis/Gagai in the centres. It would be the dumbest signing in a long time. They also have a 85% goal kicker.

These rumours are usually BS but West’s make more sense. Souths should sign Papalli.

Maybe the connection was assumed because Blake played for Ivan sometime ago ....I don't know where he ends up,but good luck to him where ever he goes..I always liked Blake as a player and he was pretty good for us when he was here...
You may see me struggle...but you will never see me quit... :D

Bit harsh calling players that leave their team mid season scum.
There can be all sorts of reasons.
Doesn't make them all Mitch Moses.
