We already have a lot of religious players at the club...
But so far they are sensible enough to know we pay them to play football not to spout their views on social media
Thats the problem with this world people are not allowed to have a view thst differs with others
What if he said all Aborigines will go to hell?

All good?

We don't need a bigot in the place.

Not the type of signing we need. If we were already a top 4 side, maybe a short term deal but he’s a mercinary and his religious zealousness would be a distraction. I would rather we target a young guy on the up.
Your kidding.

Mercinary? Religious zealousness? A distraction ? To whom?

One of the best athletes in the world and you would knock him back? Wow.
Just like Jarrad Hayne....our team doesn’t need a supposed superstar....there is only downside

A person can believe whatever they want, that's not the point. The point is he isn't speaking on behalf of himself, but as part of Rugby Union. If he was at the Tigers, it seems to be a consensus of the Tigers and the NRL that they don't want an individual saying that sort of intolerant stuff to the media dragging down the brand's collective name.

He needs to show some practical sense, he can believe whatever he wants, but if he is going to come out publicly and say stuff against to the beliefs of his employer, expect pushback,
A one eyed supporter, mostly :crazy, always :sign:

that's cool. He's shown his true colours as a person. I'd hate that sort of thinking at the club.

It's a no for me.... This garbage from him will only get worse until he leaves footy imo... It seems to be more of a priority for him... We don't need part timers

So no free speech for you either. Anyone can say what they like as long as it's not hate speech.

Don't like it? Tough

I'd classify that as hate speech.

Would he add value on the field? No doubt. He's a class player.

I'm still at a loss as to why his opinions mean anything. Just because he is a top grade footballer, why does anyone think his opinions or tastes on anything actually mean something.

It's no different to parents letting their kids look at these guys like role models. If you do, youre an idiot for allowing it. Role models are parents, uncles, aunties, grand parents, good neighbours. Not dimwitted footballers, half of whom are just dum uneducated housos.

Why oh why does anyone think his beliefs or opinions are of more value than anyone elses?

The irony. The LGBTQ community built their foundations on the basis of free speech and accepting opinions. Now, in no way do I agree with Folau but the fact he is not allowed to voice his opinion after BEING ASKED A QUESTION REGARDING IT (so, no, he's not forcing his opinion down your throats, he was asked) seems very hypocritical and reminiscent of conventional propaganda.

Swords, his opinions don’t mean more - but his voice is louder because he has celebrity status. You or I say something - not many hear. He says something and it’s instant news. His opinions are not of more value but they carry more weight.

Also - I know many people living in housing commission. Great people - definitely not dumb and uneducated!!

I don't care that he said it. I just don't want a bigot representing our club.

Wouldn't fork out the big bucks for him. He hasn't played a game of league in over half a decade. Sure he was good when he left, but his body has been conditioned and worked to play other sports, he may not have the same performance. Jarryd Hayne wasn't the same played when he came back and he was only gone for a fraction of what Izzy was gone for.

So, if you are a member of the LGBTQ community, and this guy has just said he believes you should go to hell, you don’t have the right to be upset?
