There was talk that brad Arthur over bulked the pack over the off season. With that extra bulk they lost the aggressive mobility that they had.

Mbye is a better FB than French.

Wouldn't worry me if we missed either.

If you just want speed - buy a greyhound.
He has more than just speed. He has excellent footwork and I saw a miraculous kick and chase on a least one occasion. Look at what Ado Carr has added to the Storm.
French is about 1/10 of the footballer JAC is.
#facts
I am not saying that Bevan is as good as JAC. You're missing the point. I'm saying that with good coaching and a team with cohesion, Bevan could develop into an excellent first grader, whether it be on the wing or fullback. We don't have any outside backs who can run the length. I'm also NOT saying that he would be a marquee signing, only that he could add some valuable strike power at low cost. I don't get the hate for him. So what if he said he'd like to play fullback, so did Johnson at Souths. As I mentioned before, he probably wants to get away from the egotism of Hayne, Moses, Norman, etc....

no way he is a light weigh, we need a more solid type fullback.
Exactly what I think of him, Ive never seen him live, but he seems to be small.
Nothing wrong with small FBs but I'd, much rather one who has some power behind have and not just speed alone.

Not keen on French.

I know what happened to Parra. Mitch Moses!

Whilst he can be exciting with the ball in hand against a retreating defence, his rushing up in defence on his own line costs them a try a game.
He also has never been that great inside the opposition 20 where the defence isn't on the back foot.

Ìt seems French is disgruntled about not getting a go at fullback. To me that means if he was to go to a new club he would want to play in that position and not on the wing. In my view I'd prefer Thomson (or a performing Tui) than bringing in French - Í'd rather spend the money elsewhere than on him.
As for Mbye I actually think he's a better fullback than French - he has better ball skills and passing game, is a better defender and positionally better. Also he has more versatility across the backline. Although I have never met either of them, Mbye comes across as the better for Ivan as well.

Mbye seems like a player who came chrime in as a third half if needed where as French doesn't seem like that kinda player.
I have family in Balmain and the Western suburbs so i guess that makes me a Balmain Westie

Some people just don't seem to listen. The Tigers are NOT interested in signing French. An offer has been made to Mbye, now we need to see what he decides to do.

Im no fan of French but id be very surprised if Cleary and the Wests Tigers sit on their hands and wait for Mybe.

Im sure there are plan B's in place.

You have to keep moving and explore all options, even if it is just a quiet word to a player to see if he may be interested should (player X) not take up an offer.
Its an opinion!

Must be about time for Willow to come around and knock this one on the head. Case closed, no French.
