Post by Milky » Sun 28 Oct, 2018 12:22 pm

Okay so here goes nothing....

18 Spots to fill,

12 Contracted Players;

- Oliver Clark
- Matt Eisenhuth
- Esan Marsters
- Ryan Matterson
- Ben Matulino
- Moses Mbye
- Chris Mcqueen
- Paul Momirovski
- David Nofa
- Russell Packer
- Josh Reynolds
- Elijah taylor
- Alex Twal

What will Madge do?

IMO He will cut ET and McQueen.

Re-sign Aloiai and Brooks.

Exciting times...

I love ET but I’d like to see him move on after 2019. We need forwards with more go forward. The fact that he’s good at slowing down the play the ball simply isn’t enough
Year of last finals appearance:
2018 - Roosters, Storm, Rabbitohs, Sharks, Panthers, Broncos, Dragons, Warriors
2017 - Eels, Sea Eagles, Cowboys
2016 - Raiders, Bulldogs, Titans
2013 - Knights
2011 - Tigers

Trouble is that we still have Reynolds in the contracted list
They have to get rid of Mcqeen some way
And ET and Packer have played their best football, can’t see much improvement in them

If he came good, I wouldn't mind that. Always rated McQueen and I thought he was playing well before the neck injury. Maybe he just needed last year to get over it.

I think so. Pretty sure he was part of their Premiership winning team in 2014.

Did Farah play under Maguire at Souths as well or was Madge gone before then?

Wow, do you any of you realise how contracts work?

“Let’s offload Reynolds, McQueen, ET and Packer” like it’s no big deal. It is. If we aren’t going to want them, not many other clubs are going to either. We’re stuck with most of these guys till they are off contract. Like it or lump it.

If that’s supposed to be a funny dig at what’s happened with Cleary, you’d be wrong. Cleary wanted a release. If we tell them they can leave but can’t find another club, we’re stuck with them. Why’s that? Contracts lol.

If a Club doesn't want you ...sure they can stay with their contract these guys are professional athletes and want to play at the top level if a Club let's you know you are not really in the plans you will find somewhere else..how many times have we seen it with higher profile guys than ours too and lower one's...

Not saying the Club doesn't want any of these guys either ATM some fans don't sure...

A change of Coach often leads to a shake up of the playing roster in the second year unlikely to boot them tomorrow but it will happen..contract or not...

If you got the right kind of authority as a coach you can tap a player on the shoulder. Its very easy to say to someone you can consider other options. Can be played out behind closed doors. The player knows he might be better to look around. it doesnt have to be a JT v Farah thing. it can be subtle if the coach is smart enough.

Reality though is Maguire could do this to one or two guys, most likely McQueen and Rochow.
Its an opinion!
