BMM

Post by southerntiger » Fri 30 Aug, 2013 9:47 pm

I am expecting this bloke to do next year what Fifita has done this year at the Sharks. He bas been mammoth in the past few weeks. If he can tighten up his defende a little bit more he will be a complete player.

Kudos to him for what seems a clear attitude change. Kudos also to Potter for starting him.

x2

With Woods, Galloway, Seumanufagai, Buchanan, Gavet and Brown at props, and 2nd row: BMM, Taupau, Sironen, Sue, Paterson WT will finally have some size.

We need coaching staff to perfect our team and make us a real threat to the top teams. We seem to have a decent mentaility of grinding out games, but we can't execute it because our defensive positioning is mediocre. Fix up that structure and we will be able to secure several extra wins next season and put us in the hunt for the 8.

Problem i feel is, i have no idea who's gonna be in the bottom 4 next year. Eels, probably. Dragons maybe. Who else though? Maybe titans i guess.... can't think of anyone else, they're all on the up really....

Potential superstar.

Has bad hands though. Never seen someone drop the ball so many times in the process of scoring a try

Good hands cant be learned, bad hands can't be fixed.

Will always have his fair share of bombed try's, gonna be a hell of a dangerous runner of the ball though and developing a good offload.

Guys like Gallen, Matt Scott, Webke, JWHargreaves all struggled till they got their wind, strength and confidence. They made heaps of errors early too.

I get the impression BMM feels like he belongs now... That is a big step

err.... what? of course bad hands can be fixed. He might not be as slick as JT but he can definitely improve that and become somewhat reliable in catching and running

It's pleasing that he's starting to show his talent. This guy is a beast. Just a pity his hands are a bit like the other 'beast', Manu Vatuvei.

Does he work with a cricket fielding coach, during the off-season?

I think the first half of the year would have been tough on him given he and Mosese were close, his mind might not have been on footy. He has shown excellent progression though and I look forward to him continuing to blossom next year.

19-12 You are spot on, if he worked with a fielding coach it would really help him, we used to do this in the off season @ training & it really helps.

He has come along in the second half of the season. I'd have Sirro and BMM as my starting backrow next season, with Sirro expected to tip the scales around 108kg next year and BMM around 110, we finally have some size and aggression in the backrow, plus both players have an offload in them.

Loved his hit on Sutton last night too.

Bad hands is often a case of being a bit down on self confidence. The more he plays in the top side and really feels he belongs, his handling will improve. It's an attitude adjustment as much as anything. Take it from one who had the same problem (even at park football level).
