Simona to play in the centre's when fit/ready most likely for Lawrence based on last seasons form, but I really hope rowdy can turn it around.
Found it hard to leave big Ava out of the side but I'm sure he'll put pressure on the top 17 & get his chance again eventually.
The first 6-8 weeks has got to be make-or-break for a few of these guys, i.e. Anasta, Blair & Lawrence. Hope they can find some form & put in but it's good to know we have some promising young guys waiting for their chance.

im wary of putting nofo at centre. we have no idea whether he can handle it at FG.... i'll put my trust in him and potter to come to the right answer though.

Everyone is selecting Chris Lawrence to play first grade in round one but surely there must be a huge question mark on him based on his performance last year.
That's right Newtown. Mmmm, now what happened in the Ashes?Newtown wrote:Everyone is selecting Chris Lawrence to play first grade in round one but surely there must be a huge question mark on him based on his performance last year.

He'll be there barring injury, as will Blair and AnastaNewtown wrote:Everyone is selecting Chris Lawrence to play first grade in round one but surely there must be a huge question mark on him based on his performance last year.
Agree, half our side are certainties, the major positions up for grabs barring injury, will be an outside back and the backrowinnsaneink wrote:He'll be there barring injury, as will Blair and AnastaNewtown wrote:Everyone is selecting Chris Lawrence to play first grade in round one but surely there must be a huge question mark on him based on his performance last year.

With his pace & aggression IMO I don't think we can leave him out. His defence & ability under the high ball seemed to improve a lot during the WC & hopefully he'll keep working on this. The other qualities he brings to the team you just can't teach. He is a real X-factor.Majere77 wrote:Reeeally surprised to see people naming Koro in their sides
RE. Nofo in the centre's, he's played there & at FB in the lower grades & although not in 1st grade, he handled everything that was thrown at him this year & really excelled. I'm confident he can go well at centre.
It would be great to see if they can build a combination as they are both explosive backs. If it doesn't work well Simona can slot in when he is fully fit & ready. He could also take Rowdy's spot if things aren't working out for him in the centres.

In order that the side builds confidence for the rest of the season it is important that the side performs well especially in the early rounds. Players like Anasta, Blair and Lawrence bring experience to the side but all this experience may not be enough to offset any defiencies they may currently have in form, fitness and enthusiasm. Let's have that they have these all of these attributes if they selected for Round one.innsaneink wrote:He'll be there barring injury, as will Blair and AnastaNewtown wrote:Everyone is selecting Chris Lawrence to play first grade in round one but surely there must be a huge question mark on him based on his performance last year.

There is no question that Koro is a champ in the making but he needs a stint in NSW Cup. His defense is questionable and he often gets outsmarted by opposition. I would start with Nufo and Richards on the right and left wing, and Koro pushing for a spot if either get injured.
Also, I would leave Nufo at right wing. He has a terrific combination with Tedesco in regards to kick returns and he is a damn good finisher (there must have been 4 tries which were purely scored on his acrobatic finesse). Players with skills like this (high ball, finisher) excel on the wing so I would keep Nufo there. We have other options at centre, I would not change this unless absolutely necessary.
