Wow! A coach who replaces an injured fullback with another actual fullback and a suspended five eighth with another actual five eighth! How delightful :P
Sooner or later, next year has to be this year - Ricksen

Do my eyes deceive me? FB for FB and 5/8th for 5/8th?

It's great to see players picked in their rightful positions.

Gone are the bad old days of the "Sheenius" decisions, where it would be shuffling the deckchairs and moving everyone around to come up with a Team.....

I applaud Potter for these selections....it's like the old days, where if you lost your first grade 5/8th, your reserve grade 5/8th stepped right in.

It is great feeling for all Wests Tigers younger players to know that the first grade coach has confidence in them. Austin and Rowe certainly have the ability to play first grade and what better time to make their first grade debuts for Tigers than at a Tigers home match. There seems to be a lot of confidence with all three Wests Tigers grades. Support from a huge home crowd will certainly add to this confidence.

Wow, this is definitely the end of '9 to 7, 3 to 6, 2 to 13 etc :)
Four forwards on the bench and 'like for like' substitution - we have waited for this for too long :(
God speed JT. :sign:

You are right this shows the coach has the courage and the belief that the younger guys can move up ,rather than trying to play it safe and having a negative reaction , I am getting a lot of respect for Coach Potter if it doesn't,t work so be it but there is a structure to the thinking!

A fullback for a fullback. A five-eight for a five eight. Who would ever think such logic would come into play at WT. 2 direct changes instead of 6 changes and players playing out of position. Backing youth.

Bravo Potter!

All I can say is thank God that Potter doesn't read the Forum for his selection ideas

He made the smart call as Eddie said , straight swap for players who play those positions week in week out

Although it's always hard (and something we seem to have year in, year out and week in week out) with the injuries we have. I'm actually pretty happy and excited about this squad. Good luck to both Rowe and Austin. Well deserved.

What is this witch craft potter is doing?!?!? A fullback in plAce of a fullback??!?! A 5/8 for a 5/8. This is suicide!?!?! Oh wait. That's what you're meant to do.

Cool. I'm good with that.

it's the right thing to do replace a fullback with a fullback... the sheens era of a winger on the bench playing wingers at 5/8 hookers at halfback back rowers at prop is over.. I know from what I hear he has not been playing good but I'd rather a fullback back there then in the words of sheens 'manufactured' fullback.

If the rest of the side takes the field as per selections, and in their usual positions, it will make it easier for these young blokes.

Lulia as 18th man might indicate that this may not happen though?

Good thing for Rowe is he played all last year with Brooks and has half a dozen or so games with Austin.

I'd say Lulia is cover for Simona in the event he is not fit by game day.

Don't discount the loss of Fulton, that is a significant loss!!
I think he has been a great ball player for us this year, and when he's been of we have suffered.
Another injury and important one, not looking good for tomorrow?!
