A bit concerned

Unread post by innsaneink » Tue 24 Jun, 2014 5:51 am

Ive noticed lately in our games we're struggling at times to put the ball runner on the deck
I hope this is addressed on Saturday night however its something that is difficult to turn around in a week or two once its set in
Raiders have a pretty big mobile pack and if we let them stand the offloads will come and thats my worry
That and the fact weve seemed to go with lightish benches these days...and conceding well over 100 points our last 5 games...we are no morals

That's one thing we've been missing since Fulton's been out. Blair is usually quite good at putting the player on the deck. Maybe a bit of a mindset. When we do select four big guys on the bench. The mind set is to smash them in defence and drive them into the ground.

Again it will be interesting if a spot on the bench is warmed by Austin, as noted previously the 4 forward rotation on the bench worked well at the start of the season. After the poor performance against Souths the coach has to get stability back in the team , maybe the constant interruptions to the team though concussions etc during games don't help with the defensive structure as the game progresses ,it has been very frustrating to see the team disjointed on so many occasions over the last month or so.

Potter needs to start picking teams to win games. That means a big pack and getting rid of Anasta. If he has to play Anasta he shouldn't play Austin. I think it is a no brainer who to drop out of the two but Potter doesn't seem to be able to get this right.

Fix the bench and I bet we will look a lot stronger out there.

I said all along Austin was never any good. For a 5/8 to adjust his stance or to switch sides to pass correctly is no 5/8 to me. Almost every pass is followed by a little jump. Then you have Anasta who is Benji's twin F@% up. Ditch both now and bring in Moses. With only one away game till round 22 now is the time. Potter make your mark.

Following this team for the last 15 years has taught me that we are never a certainty.

I would say it's debilitating.

I'm certain that this team is responsible for the plethora of heart issues I have

I don't

I'd much rather be bored to death of us winning 80% of our games every season

But that just me I guess

Dull ,colourless and boring

Gareth Ellis was a master at finishing off tackles. Putting players on their back is where we have always struggled.
