Sironen

Unread post by shakey4d » Mon 28 Jul, 2014 11:40 am

Siro was well off the pace. He looked gassed after the first half hour. When Rein waltzed through and then the nightingale try, you could see he just had nothing in the tank.

I know there arent many rowdy fans here anynore but geez we missed someone running onto the ball hitting holes at pace on that left edge in attack. Siro looked like he had no idea whether to run or pass. Completely lost. IMO He really should be starting off the bench.

And oh boy if we try to plug another centre gap with a 2nd rower again this season ill lose it. Of all our second rowers, surely siro would be better placed to mark up outwide than bodene or halatau?!

maybe so,but i also look at the way bodene has developed this year.
i was very critical of potter selecting bodene to start last year when he had been out of the game for a year.
he wasn't ready for the minutes he was getting.
makes me think potter knew he had to persevere conditioning him for first grade in the future.
i get the feeling he is doing the same with sirro and it's the way potter develops players thinking more long term than short term.

True but I would still prefer Blair a seasoned first grader possibly at the peak of his performance to play the 80 than Siro. He's not even 21 yet. Brooks and siros combination needs a lot of work. It can be done at training not necessarily in do or die games as we have from here on in.

I know Blair has killed it in the middle but I would have Blair on the edge when sue comes on. It's not good management when you have 9 forwards in the team but a 20yo is still playing 80 minutes.

No way, he gets lost like Harold Holt anytime he plays out wide. His form only took a turn once he started playing up the middle. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I would rather Blair looking out for brooks than sue.

He will probably not be as effective in attack but the defense on that side will improve with Blair IMO.

If Patterson and Fulton weren't injured/retired he most likely would be in NSW Cup or on the bench
