No dramas GEO, and I wasn't having a go. Like everyone else I had a hard time following the commentary. I am probably a bit more familiar with what was going on and so persisted. It is definitely Quadja now.

our tryline really wasnt broken their only try from an in-goal strip i think...

NT,I didn't want to sound critical I apologise if it did,my main point was that it was good for the community out there to get an NRL game in their area so the kids get to see their stars in action,it would be a thrill for them...the kinks in the commentary are nothing to worry about they will eventually sort them out..cheers mate..

Great result. Especially defensively. Rumours on other sites that Tapau played lock. Can anyone confirm this. Very interesting if true.

A sleeve sponsor will come if the team keeps winning.

I hope it continues.Similiar set up with the Roosters and FPN at lock.Sick of us having the smallest lock/backrow in the comp.

I hope so. I'd have him there for the season. It allows us to play 3 props all game.

I haven't been a fan of throwing Taupau in the back row, but with how little depth we have, i'm not sure we have a choice.

Taupau isnt yer stock standard prop. He is agile and fast for a big guy. If anyone could handle backrow its him. Im guessing its out of him and halatau!

If u look at a full strength bulldogs pack

Graham
Kasiano
Pritchard
Tolman
Jackson
Eastwood

I think the only way can compete against that is if Taupau is in the backrow. Whether it's lock or on the edge I don't care, but for me, Marty must be back there to give us a SBW type influence while other big men get us going forward. He's our X Factor forward.

A pack like this has good look about it

8.Galloway
9.Farah
10.Woods
11.Sironen
12.Lamar/Sue/Akaoula/Santi
13.Taupau

Ava
Lodge
Sue/Lamar/Akaoula/Funaki

So I'm very happy to hear Taylor might be going this way

While the broadcast was difficult to understand I reckon it's worth cutting them some slack as they don't see a lot of NRL out this way. I found it interesting from the cross cultural perspective with the almost instant personalisation of players by giving them nicknames and the multiple attempts at trying to announce difficult names. Getting names (identities) right is very important in traditional culture. This was the announcers way of drawing players into relevance with the local mob.
CAAMA is broadcast to very remote communities, many of which don't get a lot of experience with NRL. Wests Tigers (especially Quadja) will now have supporters in some remote places. If these announcers gained more experience with NRL, I reckon you would find their broadcasts hilarious in time.
On reflection NT you are right my pathetic comment was way to harsh and I take it back...they certainly were enthusiastic...maybe it was the Parwa bias that put me off but that is to be expected and no worse than when Steel Sports Radio call a Newtown game....

In the end even I was rooting for Quadja...I think it could catch on...
thank you for your honesty Geo - but i always knew you were good - that's the bottom line

the irony in the game for me was we scored 20 points or something like that - but the focus became our defense. We created a wall. This is a top 8 team. Without a shadow of doubt. I'm with the players on this one - i think the bar has been raised and the goal has been set. It's a win win situation really.
