Can you carry a centre playing like a prop?

Unread post by Eddie » Sun 22 Mar, 2015 7:55 pm

Seriously. I don't want to bag as he runs hard and tries his best.

However he just plays like a glorified prop these days or backrower at best. Never tries any footwork or passing. Will never run around his opposition number.

Cant catch a bomb to save his life.

Our attack look pretty average out wide and the halves are not providing great service. I know there are not many Dylan walkers around however someone with a little bit of speed or footwork would be handy out there.

He has been ok but surely the end is nigh. Is his contract up at years end?/e

I thought he was quite good today , at one point I think he could've scored himself .
Poor service from our halves ATM is more of a concern for me ... ( and the completion rate ).

I will call a spade a spade regarding Lawrence, though today you couldnt really fault him too much... has never been good under the high ball, but even on that occasion he flew tall against Inglis doing enough to diffuse a situation that was otherwise an almost certain try.

Though I will say, yes he is running like a prop, so would like to see him put himself into more work taking some of the runs we get the wingers into make deep in our own territory, his body is more suited to the workload, could attract a few more defenders

Dropped a ball on the line that could have lead to a try

I thought he stuffed the naquima chance by giving the ball way too early. Should have gone himself or drawn Johnston more. He is playing with no confidence, probably because he is sh*t.

Unless he has a series of absolute shocker games, I can't see him being dropped or moved, the selectors seem to be happy with letting him play the way he is.

Why not - we are cornering the prop market.

At the moment we are looking for props that can play FB, wing and 5/8 and Half.
