Flat

Post by westie18 » Fri 19 Jun, 2015 9:44 pm

Following the energetic performance last week, tonight we have looked flat and uninspiring, there has been some moments of excitement, but on the whole not too much to be pleased about, shame, Keefy should be celebrating a win.
It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

The issue that needs addressing is how to combat teams who throw the ball wide early when we are expecting a forwards battle. The Roosters did it to us and now Manly have copied their game plan of going wide from the outset and attacking our right side defence.

Nevertheless, we were a bit flat especially in the first half. The last 20 minutes was how we should have played from the start - with a bit of mongrel. Tapau, after being taken off early vomiting, really picked up our intensity and we could have even snatched that game in the last ten minutes. He is a legend.

Still, not too disappointed and we'll probably improve against the Panthers.

Manly had a very clear game plan. We did not adapt to it. Our forwards did not dominate as a consequence and that was the only way we were ever going to win.
