What if Benji earns a starting spot?

ET is the safe bet.

I just fear he won't have any influence with the refs. Like a MR Nice guy. Like Chris Lawrence.

Maybe its better to have someone like that anyway that is calm.

I just dont want us to be an easy team to ping. Reynolds would let the refs know he is out there.

Pretty sure ET will get the nod with Lawrence vice and filling in when needed.

Id say Cleary will see who the best leader is during the pre-season. Wont announce until after that. Will be an incentive to push a few of the boys just that bit more.

Elijah Taylor (c), David Nofoaluma co-captain - inspirational/'no surender' player
Lawrence is a nice guy, unfortunately for the last 5-6 years he is 'has-been', so if everyone is healthy, he cannot be within 17.

Just out if curiosity, when was the last time a Winger was captain of a team?

As for Noff though, he's a good player and very passionate about the club but, I don't think he has the football smarts to be a captain.

Warren Boland for the Magpies in the early 80s, maybe Luke Burt for a bit, Manu Vatuvai?

I think Noffo needs to focus on keeping his wing spot next year over being captain.
He was ordinary this year and has competition for next.

Ill pick Taylor.
