Wests Tigers confirm 2018 home game allocation
Re: Wests Tigers confirm 2018 home game allocation
Dont have much of a problem with us taking a game to Tamworth i think its a decent idea even though we lose a home game as long as we are compensated from the nrl money wise. But to give away a game to new zealand which already has a club there doesn't impress me at all and is just a money grab by the club which i know we need. IMO we as a club need to get a balance between giving away home games to make cash and giving away home games for the right reasons . I know we arent one of the richer clubs and we struggle for funds but we need to get a balance which isnt easy when you are trying to keep two clubs happy even though we should be one by now.

The NRL will schedule matches across seven different regional locations in NSW and Queensland as part of the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership season.
Premiership matches will be held in Mudgee, Tamworth, Bathurst and Gosford next year, as well as Gladstone, Toowoomba and Cairns.
It means the 2018 season will include the most number of regional locations in NSW and Queensland in the history of the NRL Premiership.
The Gold Coast Titans will take two matches to regional centres (Gladstone and Toowoomba), while South Sydney will continue play one of its matches in Cairns.
The St George Illawarra Dragons will host a match in Mudgee - which will also be the venue for the annual pre-season Charity Shield match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Wests Tigers will host a match in Tamworth, Penrith Panthers will play in Bathurst, while both the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney will take matches to Gosford.
NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said the NRL had worked with the clubs and Country Rugby League in order to maximise the number of matches in regional areas in 2018.
"We have said for some time it was our strong desire to take more games to regional venues in 2018, and we're extremely happy to have been able to do that as part of the new schedule," Mr Greenberg said.
"I want to thank the clubs involved for working with us on delivering this positive result for the game in regional areas but also the local councils, community groups and our government partners for being so enthusiastic about hosting rugby league matches.
"It will be great to see so many people in regional areas being able to witness the best of rugby league up close in 2018."
CRL CEO Terry Quinn said the additional matches were a victory for country rugby league fans.
"We always said that, if the Country v City match was to be discontinued, we needed to see more NRL games in regional areas," he said.
"We have secured those extra matches and it means fans will be able to see NRL games in more regional areas than ever before."
Details of each of the fixtures will be released when the full 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership schedule is announced.

Gold Coast taking a game to Gladstone if it's Wests Tigers may well lure happy out of retirement...

Lots of info coming out now, when are they planning to put the draw out? in the next few weeks?
Good to see Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle and the Cowboys taking the game to their regional areas.
Maybe they just haven't announced those games yet.
Couldn't imagine that they wouldn't want to pull their weight and promote the NRL in country areas.
Funny how they are all one area teams. Leave it to the Sydney Clubs to get dudded again.

My parents are about to sell up and move up that way so it might be a good opportunity to get up there and enjoy a game with my old man next year and see how well a regional centre supports the game.
Don't try to tell me awesome power can corrupt a person, you haven't enough to know what it's like; you're only angry because you wish you were in my position, you nod your head because you know that I'm right.

Good one. Used to live and work in Tamworth. Plenty of places to stay. Nice town. Think I might go to this game.
Need more props.

In today’s bris Sunday mail 2018 round 1 draw we play the roosters sat march 10 at ANZ 3pm
If we're playing the Roosters at ANZ, and a assumming we play eels, dogs, rabbitohs and dragons twice each, then one of those home games will have to be at LO or Campbelltown. Will probably be dragons at Campbelltown again.
Year of last finals appearance:
2017 - Storm, Roosters, Broncos, Eels, Sharks, Sea Eagles, Panthers, Cowboys
2016 - Raiders, Bulldogs, Titans
2015 - Rabbitohs, Dragons
2013 - Knights
2011 - Tigers, Warriors
2017 - Storm, Roosters, Broncos, Eels, Sharks, Sea Eagles, Panthers, Cowboys
2016 - Raiders, Bulldogs, Titans
2015 - Rabbitohs, Dragons
2013 - Knights
2011 - Tigers, Warriors
