Origin is usually players selected after high level play for successive years. I think Maloney is a certainty and Cleary if fit.
Otherwise it’s probably Maloney/Keary.
If he keeps this up for 12 months he will be there next year.

Not this year
Luke needs to show consistency throughout the whole year and take us deep into the finals first
If he can do that and start next year like he has this year then he will get his shot
Until then he is ours
Imo

Some of the other names thrown in the ring another Malony are not seasoned performers.

If they are being considered then why not brooks.

Just out of curiosity, everybody says Luke isn't ready for origin and Maloney should be #7 for the Blues. But what does Brooks have to do to deserve an origin call-up?
Everyone needs to calm the blank down - I like him but he has had exactly 2.5 “great” games in 5 years - next year IF his form continues...... exactly the way to knock the bejesus out of his confidence - I’m sure it’s the qlders who started the rumour......

Quick question with all the different broadcasting, commentary and post match analysis, did anyone bring up the idea of Luke Brooks playing origin?

Heard Gordy on MMM say mid game that NSW should pick him

Honestly deserves to be the 7, bit selfish as fans that the only reason we don’t want him playing is so he can play for us.

The bloke is the form 7 of the comp and after everything deserves it, would mean a lot to the kid too and give him that confidence and make him a better player

Thoughts?
No. Its taken him a few years to find his feet and one of the big things Benji put it down to is his surroundings. The last thing we, or NSW need is for his confidence to be shattered. As others have said, keep the form up and his time will come.
Very well put. No doubt that Brooksy possesses the skill set to be a wonderful NSW 7 in the future but he needs more time to consolidate his place as an elite first grade half before being thrown into the cauldron of Origin. He is a confidence player and a premature entry into that level of pressure could rock his self belief.

Agree with most people. Not this year for Brooks.
Brooks, Maloney, Keary, Pearce and Green have all been in good form this year.
Brooks has dominated the Qld haves he has come up against this year in Cronk, Croft and DCE. He is also playing better than JT this season but are only six games in. And up until this year his form has been mixed. His has the right balance of players around him at the Tigers now but different types of players in the NSW team may over call him.
The right balance and experience should be considered as well as individual form.
I'd go with Maloney at 7, Green at 6. Keary of the bench.

No, Sorry Luke.

I truly like you ion my team and im full of anticipation at seeing you continue to realise your potential.

SOO is important, vital, fundamental and people dont understand how hard it is.

I dont think its your time yet.

Keep having games like that against Manly and things will happen.

he's played maybe 5 good games in his career

if he continues this or close to this (70%) for another year then next year might be the time.
however, he does deserve to be "talked about" based on this year

How bout we wait till 2019 when both tigers halves are picked for origin.

Depends our how you describe "good games".
Going off the 3,2,1 on the WTF. He's been in our 3,2,1's more five times in his career.
If he's in people's 3,2,1's then I'd consider that a good game. Even players outside the 3,2,1's have had good games.

Definitely too early to be talked about as the NSW half back.

At least we are now witnessing what all the hype in his junior years was all about.

If he keeps up his form his time will come.

Maloney and Green to be our halves.

Not too sure about this year. If he continues to prove himself week in week there is no doubt in my mind he will be the 7 for NSW next year.
EXACTLY BROOKS HAS ONLY SHOWN HIS REAL SKILLS AS A HALF THIS YEAR GIVE HIM ANOTHER SEASON ALEAST :sign: :sign:

How people are saying Blake Green is beyond me

And then using the excuse for Brooks that he can’t be picked on 6 good games

That same excuse falls into Green just as much
