More Balanced Side but changes needed

Post by Toowoomba Tiger » Mon 16 Jul, 2018 9:48 am

Much better balanced side with Farah and Mbye in the spine.
I'm happy with either Benji or Reynolds in the 6 at this stage.
Brooks is still on the improve.
Throw in Nofoluma with his dirty metres and Taylor playing his best position of lock.

I'm happy with Nofo and Thompson on the wings
Fonua probably takes Kevvies spot when back and partners Masters in the centres.

Front row and second row still being shared around and hard to know whats best there atm.
Mats and Packer in there but not giving us big minutes or big metres atm.
Twal looks the future. Eiso fits in there somewhere. Hoping Clark can offer something.

I'm happy that most have been given a chance this year with the likes of Chee-Kam, Aloia, Sue, Rochow, Garner.

If nothing else, this season should give Clearly a good understanding of what he has and needs into the future.

Reynolds was in a sling yesterday so no clue when he'll be back

Best to just wrap him in cotton wool and keep him fresh for next year

I like demps team but I'm just worried if MCK and Sue can pump out big quality minutes on those edges

I have a feeling rochow will get the gig though

Still going side to side too much, that's why we're not seeing the big stats from the front rowers.

I wouldn't change any players, but game plan needs a tweak.

did every one notice yesterday that we looked out on are feet with 8 mins to go, the line speed had gone and the hit ups were all one out right next to the ruck. was glad there wasn't 15 to go or we would have got run down. really they all looked spent.

I wouldn't change any players either but if Lawrence and aloiai are out forced changes will be needed

I think the week off does that to teams, hopefully better for the run next week if a similar situation occurs

MCK pumped out big quality minutes yesterday and he just continues to get better. He's been a revelation this season and I didn't think he had it in him. I'm mightily impressed. If Sue plays, I think he's better suited to the prop rotation.

I like it too. Get Sue to run straight and hard at Reynolds for 25 minutes.

Yeah but off the Bench after the sting was taken out of the game - that's when he's most effective. I think we might have to take the gamble and move Taylor to that left edge. He might not have the same offense as Lawrence but I reckon he could at least do the job defensively pretty well

Sue is a bench prop at best, I think that has been proved time and again over his career. Plus very rarely he puts together back to back performances.

The only way the Tigers will beat Souths is with a huge defensive game , with Rowdy gone this will be very difficult as Souths will play the power game right through the middle.

Forward pack is the trouble at the moment. We are missing a high quality prop who can pump out effective metres and a player off the bench who can turn the game.

I tend to agree with you in regard to Rowdy and his defensive game, however,I honestly think with the spine we have now and they will only get better, this team may produce some big upsets within the last few rounds.Robbie,Benji,Luke and Mbye are the players who can make a huge impact in the games because there is now more stability in those positions therefore once they gel will be very creative and experienced....they may also lift the rest of the team to perform much better...as long as they reduce the simple errors and penalties...
You may see me struggle...but you will never see me quit... :D

If Chee Kam & Sue can replicate the game against Saints more often then I feel we may have that solution, they were huge

Problem is history has shown that they struggle to do that. I would love if they could but I’m not confident they can.
