Demetriou being spoken about as doing a Cam Cirrado whilst the Broncos wait for Seibold
Meaning Bennett heading south?
You would think so.

Demetriou has pretty big wraps does he not? Like in the same way Seibold was rated before he took over from Souths? Ciraldo is merely a stand in.
Would have the season to implement Bennett's philosophy and have the club ready for Bennett's arrival in 2020. Don't mind the move tbh.
I took Yossarian's post to imply that Demetriou stays in Brisbane to hold the fort next year until Seibold takes over in 2020 freeing up Bennett to come to Sydney (hopefully WT) in 2019. But, either option would be appealing to me. Bennett to WT in 2019 is my first choice but Demetriou to WT in 2019 as interim head coach followed by Bennett in 2020 is also appealing. I just find it interesting that Benji is making public comment. I wonder if he's been asked to comment by the club to keep fans hopeful that good things are happening until we are in a position to make a formal announcement.

same, but wouldn't that mean that the 2019 season would be a poor one?

CH9 news reporting on the Kiwi v England game and Maguire refused to comment on being in the running for the Broncos and Bennett has no thoughts on possible WTs' role.

We missed out on a Bennett assistant once before...perhaps to our detriment.

Perhaps you are right but i for one would not be proud of my club bringing in tackles like the chicken wing, grapple and other tackles which are condemned throughout football.Bellamy can coach but he has utilised a style of play which is largely disgraceful

Obviously Benji is telling lies, because Ivan does not want to leave until his contract is up, it is all a media beat up, well thats what a few on here will have you believe.
Pascoe is not interviewing coaches, he is on a pre arranged corporate trip, and everything is hunky dory in Concord.
Go hard or go home

I'ts funny to think about this in the context of older fans of the Tigers who I assume supported Balmain (like me) or the Magpies. The last somewhat "glory" days of both clubs were in different parts of the '80's and BOTH clubs were pretty much famous for hard, brutal, borderline dirty players and culture. I used to love watching the Tigers of the late 80's bash an opposition into submission. I could take it again.

In order to sound like he has control over Cleary,
iF Cleary asked for a release, why wouldn’t Pascoe have simply said in his release that “Ivan asked for a release”

He didn’t say that,,,,,,,,,,wHY.?
it would actually been more damming for Ivan , and he was obviously trying to make Cleary look as bad as he could
And even Go didn’t mention it , and after all it would have made the clubs position a lot better if he had said that,
Does Ivan have another son that we don’t know about? Because I think I just found him.
Instead of smart ....e answers why don’t you look at facts , why would Pascoe or Go , NOT say that Ivan has asked for a release , ( if he had) instead of just making obscure comments,???
Its a bit like you , doesn’t make sense .

I dont know what Ivan asked for, but it certainly wasnt the time to announce to anyone that he had asked for a release.
Pascoe's responsibility is to protect the interest of the club first and to air something like that during the competition, and leading up to a game - if indeed it did occur - would have been irresponsible and not in our best interest.

Penrith exposed Ivan everything since has been an exercise in damage control - imo.
So, both Go and Pascoe are both liars

They dont have to lie by not sharing everything GCT.
Discussing something including a release means nothing unless its in writing - and it may have never got to that when Go addressed the issue - we don't know. But I maintain that it would have been a disaster for our team and club at the time to announce anything other than confirming that Ivan would honour his contract. They are in a position to protect the clubs interests and I believe thats the position they took, just like they are doing now.
A lot appears to be happening since then, and there has been no announcements from the club to confirm or deny anything - and hence different opinions have formed due to that.
I see it one way, you another and hopefully some official information soon will confirm something.

There is a big difference between hard football and what Bellamy has bought to the game, certainly many tackles were suspect in the older days and i have always believed that things like elbows eye gouging should be heavily punished.Blokes like Jim Mills John O'Neill where a disgrace in the 60s and 70s and hopefully would not even get a game these days.
Blocker was probably the player who sailed closest to the line(Balmain) with us in the 80s and he would be lucky to stay on the field these days.I am all in favour of hard tough football but not cheap shots or tackles designed to injure players which the storm have bought into the game.Tough/hard and illegal are 2 different things

Agreed. Says volumes about the game that tough and hard is penalised out of the game and what is left is.....
