Wests Tigers NRL Coach Jason Taylor has confirmed Chris Lawrence will miss Saturday's final round clash against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons due to injury.

After he picked up a pec injury in the Club's Round 25 win over the New Zealand Warriors, Taylor confirmed that the centre-turned-forward wasn't worth risking this week against the Dragons, having not trained all week following the 50-16 victory on Sunday.

"Chris Lawrence hasn't made it for this weekend," Taylor said on Friday morning.

"He's not going to take his place in the team [as] he has a pec injury from last weekend.

"If he played and tore his pec for a game that, given where the season is at for us, it'd be a really poor decision as coaches to push him out there on the day."

Taylor confirmed that young hooker Manaia Cherrington — who was originally named as 18th man — would come into the side on the interchange bench as his replacement.

"Manaia will come into the 17, and will get some time at hooker," he said.

What's new ?
It depends who you talk to on this Forum, if you are Optimistic? it's because your delusional and need a reality check. If you are Pessimistic? Your accused of being a negative Nancy and to go and follow another Club.

Unfortunate for Chris he has been in good form.
Today we saw a true champion in Winx, and a true bludger in Cleary!

Shift Farah to lock when Cherrington comes on to help cover for Lawrence's absence.

I was thinking the same. Bring Cherrington on at the backend of the half and give them both the freedom to run the ball from dummy half.

Simona and Rowdy must have been the worst centre combo in Nrl history for being injury prone.

Serioulsy though, good player that should have been a great player but injury killed his Rep career. 2007-2010 (4yrs) played 100 games. 2011-2015 (5yrs) played 70 games. Thats an average of half a season each year for the last 5 years sitting on the sidelines. Money well spent.

And some want him as Captain next year :roll

bugger, well, it's probably the only thing that has gone really well for us this year, far less injuries compared to previous years

Pectoral injuries can be very serious and he needs to be kept in cotton wool or he might miss the start of next season.

rowdy 19/24 games
faz 17/21 games (3 taken out for SOO)

Rowdy went off twice with injury, 1 game after just a couple of minutes, played off the bench in a couple, Robbie missed most of a second half of a game when he broke his hand.

All toted probably played less minutes then Robbie.
