Also, could I please ask if Mods could kindly give this thread a "sticky" as it's here for the duration of the EPL comp into next year.

Thanks and cheers.

Gameweek 1 results are in - and here they are:

Bon Vivant (Mrs tiger_one) 81 - 70 Bozo's Ballers (Bozo97)

Benzeman da Tiger (WestsBenTigers) 40 - 74 Laroche Lions (tiger_one)

Beijing Town (tba) 58 - 64 Minto FC (Harvey)

Fibro's (851) 33 - 76 Tranquilo (Dazza-96)

Aldinga Allstars (JRD) 52 - 75 FPL FC (wt00)

Queens Park Raisins (Marshall_magic) 62 - 66 MANS (swag tiger)

So the table looks like this after the 1st round:

Rank Team & Manager Wins Draws Losses Score Pts
1 Bon Vivant
1 0 0 81 3
2 Tranquilo
1 0 0 76 3
3 FPL FC
1 0 0 75 3
4 Laroche Lions
1 0 0 74 3
5 MANS
1 0 0 66 3
6 Minto FC
1 0 0 64 3
7 Bozo's Ballers
0 0 1 70 0
8 Queens Park Raisins
0 0 1 62 0
9 Beijing Town
0 0 1 58 0
10 Aldinga Allstars
0 0 1 52 0
11 Benzeman da Tiger
0 0 1 40 0
12 Fibro's
0 0 1 33 0

Early days, like 37 gameweeks to go, so sure enough, teams are still being adjusted etc, in these early weeks of the comp.

Historically, so-called Fantasy experts have always said that it's better to trust established players early on in the comp, waiting for new players to find their feet in the comp. Well, try and tell that to all the managers of the many new players who performed so well, straight off the bat.

Special mention to MANS and Minto FC who each won a couple of pretty tight games, with other winners including Bon Vivant, Tranquillo, FPL FC and Laroche Lions.

And now for the best part: we each get to do it all over again effective next week-end.
Good Luck to everyone in your trades (or not!).

Just for interest, here are a couple of (what might be a zillion web articles about selections etc) for the next gameweek:

http://www.fantasyfootballgeek.co.uk/fa ... is-part-2/

http://www.thefootballblog.net/2017/08/ ... 2.html?m=1

Happy researching - and remember, you can have one free transfer per gameweek, or even let a week go by, adjust your players from within, and then in the following week - you can make 2 changes, if so desired.

Gameweek 2 results are in - and here they are:

Laroche Lions (tiger_one) 52 - 35 Bon Vivant (Mrs tiger_one)
Bozo's Ballers (Bozo97) 45 - 57 Queens Park Raisins (Marshall_magic)
MANS (swag tiger) 33 - 50 Aldinga Allstars (JRD)
FPL FC (wt00) 35 - 23 Fibro's (851)
Tranquilo (Dazza-96) 47 - 38 Beijing Town (tba)
Minto FC (Harvey) 47 - 27 Benzeman da Tiger (WestsBen Tigers)

So the table looks like this after gameweek 2:

Rank Team & Manager Wins Draws Losses Score Pts
1 up Laroche Lions
2 0 0 126 6
2 same Tranquilo
2 0 0 123 6
3 up Minto FC
2 0 0 111 6
4 down FPL FC
2 0 0 110 6
5 up Queens Park Raisins
1 0 1 119 3
6 down Bon Vivant
1 0 1 116 3
7 up Aldinga Allstars
1 0 1 102 3
8 down MANS
1 0 1 99 3
9 down Bozo's Ballers
0 0 2 115 0
10 down Beijing Town
0 0 2 96 0
11 same Benzeman da Tiger
0 0 2 67 0
12 same Fibro's
0 0 2 56 0

Early days, like 36 gameweeks to go, so sure enough, teams are still being adjusted etc, in these early weeks of the comp.

Historically, so-called Fantasy experts have always said that it's better to trust established players early on in the comp, waiting for new players to find their feet in the comp. Well, try and tell that to all the managers of the many new players who performed so well, straight off the bat.

Special mention to Laroche Lions, Tranquilo, Minto FC and FPL FC who carried on their 1st round win with consecutive success into gameweek 2.

Although, it should be noted that all teams appear to have had lowish scores (44 being the average team score across the 4,608,508 fantasy players in this comp world-wide) - our leagues scores are showing signs of being better than most.
Congrats therefore to everyone - just keep it up!

And now for the best part: we each get to do it all over again effective next week-end.
Good Luck to everyone in your trades (or not!).
