With the new season upon us time for my fearless ladder predictions

1. City (they've spend a fortune on the defence, will be much better this season)
2. Chelsea (were streets ahead of everyone last season, CL will bring them back to the pack)
3. United (will improve, but maybe not enough)
4. Liverpool (will hold onto 4th)
5. Spurs (Wembley and no signings, will come crashing back to earth)
6. Arsenal (they are the weakest of the 6, especially if Alexis goes)
7. Everton (will remain "best of the rest)
8. Bournemouth (I really like what Howe has done here, continues to push forward with good signings)
9. West Ham (can't stand the pricks but they have bought well with Chicarito, Arnie & Zabaleta. Hart is rubbish though)
10. Leicester (after last season's disaster they will find their way to the mid table, won't push for Europe again but should comfortably stay up)

11. Southampton (the exodus of players continues, and will continue to slowly catch up)
12. West Brom (will get to 40 points and hit the brakes again, no chance of going down but won't trouble the big dogs)
13. Stoke (see West Brom, will be a little easier on the eyes though)
14. Palace (should never have been close to dropping last season. Good manager should do well)
15. Newcastle (have the best chance to stay up of the 3 promoted teams, won't do much more)
16. Watford (Good manager in, although they have a lack of quality, will be in a relegation dog fight this season)
17. Brighton (fresh face in the top flight, I hope they do well, will probably start well and fade when the novelty of being in the top flight is over, and will come closer to the drop than they should)
18. Swansea (I think Sigurdsson is gone, and with that so are their chances of staying up, if he stays they should move up a couple of spots, recruitment will be key)
19. Burnley (Their home form dipped last season, if they can't get it back they are in a lot of trouble, they can't win away)
20. Huddersfield (Will struggle due to a lack of quality. They've brought in quantity but maybe not enough quality)

.....well I got 4 right, and another couple off by a spot or two.

Although the two teams I said had no chance of going down went down......not to mention my 19th placers qualifying for Europe & a so called good manager being axed after 4 games without scoring a goal. Didn't think Southampton would bomb as much as they did or Huddersfield would do as well as hey did. I also didn't see it going south so fast for Chelsea.

Although I had them champions I didn't expect City to do it that easily, was a joy to watch them and will go a way to shut the fools up who don't think Guardiola is a top manager......at their best they were one of the best teams to watch I have ever seen.
Definitely someone who should join the Predict 6 comp ... :sign:

Since there is nothing here yet, I figured I'd get in first with some predictions for the upcoming WC

Winners: Germany

Runners Up: Brazil

Dark Horse: Croatia (Semi Finalists)

Flops: Argentina (Round of 16)

Player of the tournament: Luka Modric (CRO)

Top Scorer: Timo Werner (GER)

Young player: Ousmane Dembele (FRA)

Australia: 4 points, group stage exit (2-0 L vs France, 2-1 W vs Peru, 1-1 D vs Denmark, out on goal diff)

Oh dear, a few cracking selections (Croatia, Modric & Argentina) mixed in with some absolute howlers.

After my poor effort last year I will attempt to pick the table this year

1. City (so far ahead of the rest last season and will continue to strengthen. Will still be too strong)
2. Liverpool (hate putting them so high but they have addressed a few weaknesses in the squad and strengthened. Still have a few question marks that stop me putting them top, but will be thereabouts)
3. Manchester United (Could be a dumpster fire of a season for them, but I think they'll keep it together. Jose will probably go at the end of the season but they'll be much the same as this year. Need to ensure he doesn't sell any of the star players on his way out like Pogba or even Martial)
4. Arsenal (I think a trip back to the top 4 will happen, but they're still a long way off the title, I just wonder how long until the pitchforks will be out like they were with Wenger)
5. Tottenham (back out of the 4, they need to bring in a winner. They've gotten by for years on top 4 finishes but they need to start pulling in some silverware or it'll start slipping away. I would even consider a swap deal with Madrid - Kane for Bale)
6. Chelsea (It fell apart badly last season and they also need to strengthen a few areas. Most of last years signings flopped and as a result they finished poorly, not really any stronger now. A few key players are linked with exits - Courtois & Hazard)
7. West Ham (bought well and have a good manager in the short term (how long will Pelegrini realistically be around for). Maybe a little high, but there's not a lot else out there that can finish this high)
8. Everton (a few players short at the moment, but some good ins and outs have them looking good. Need to shake of the disaster of last season. If Tosun can bang in 15+ they can definitely qualify for Europe)
9. Leicester (Another of the champions leaves the club and they may have more key outs like Maguire, have plenty of talent still there (Vardy is still a 15+ goal a season player, Kasper a good keeper). I think this is where they can settle after the title win)
10. Wolves (A cut above the championship last season with a few big ins so far this window. Might be a little high, but they've got plenty of quality to see them safely avoid the drop)

11. Newcastle (have a top manager who guided them to a top 10 finish last season but need to build on this. There's a solid change Rafa walks if he doesn't get the funds in which case you can knock them down about 5-6 places)
12. Burnley (Europa is always a killer if you aren't accustom to it which they aren't yet. Will struggle early but once it is over they'll have the quality to comfortably finish mid table)
13. Fulham (have brought in some quality which should see them safely stay up. May be a little high for a play-off winner, but they would have challenged wolves last season had they started well.)
14. Southampton (should go a little better than last season, but the quality of their talent exodus is starting to really catch up with them. Need to find some stability and quality to keep themselves up long term. I don't think this will be their season, but I don't think they're long for the prem)
15. Palace (Zaha will be a huge loss when he inevitably goes, Hodgson is a dinosaur and I think they have too many players who have talent but a terrible attitude. Could definitely go down)
16. Bournemouth (started to slip away again, their brand of football is good to watch, but that will only get them so far. I think Howe has done all he can do with the club, and will look to leave soon)
17. Brighton (Can an ancient Murray score the goals again? They did very well last season, but second season syndrome may also hit them. Putting them here is as much wishful thinking as anything (I like to see Aussies in the prem), but I wouldn't be shocked if they went down).
18. Watford (another club who stayed up because they started well last season. A little too sack happy with their managers and I can see them going back down again.)
19. Huddersfield (second season syndrome may kick in here, started well last season then hit the wall hard, if they don't start well here, they'll be back in the championship)
20. Cardiff (have not strengthened enough after their promotion. Need to do so or they will go straight back down like last time. Not sure where the wins will come from to keep them up)

Looks like West Ham may have a distinctly Uruguayan flavour this season

Seems we have may have triggered Maxi Gomez's release clause and broken the clubs record transfer again in 3 weeks

Our defence might be garbage still , but we will play the West Ham way , it will be pretty ........

By the way , anyone looking for bargain EPL transfer pick up Fabian Balbuena is the real deal

Like Big Kev , I'm excited

Gomez can put them away don't worry about that , he scored 17 goals from 35 appearances in La Liga at a rate of a goal every 2nd game , his 21 years old and will be the next Suarez , Fantastic pick up and to pay 50 Million Euro for a 21 year old tells you that he is going to be something....money well spent
It depends who you talk to on this Forum, if you are Optimistic? it's because your delusional and need a reality check. If you are Pessimistic? Your accused of being a negative Nancy and to go and follow another Club.

I really hope this year we can go back to the good 'ol days when I use to check out the bottom of the table to see how those scum bags Man U are doing.

Mourinho to be the first manager to lose his job this year. I for one think they need to keep him. He's doing the rest of us a great service! :D
