Rich coming from the serial ball tamperer himself

Now let's get Brian Waldron's take on Manly's cap cheating, As bad as our team can behave, the South Africans have some absolute flogs in their team as well (between this bloke, Rabada & De Kock to name a few). He should just be thankful that less is expected of their blokes compared to ours.

After watching the Steve smith press conference last night, I realised how insignificant this whole ball tampering scandal really is. Even though I'm still of the opinion that we need harsh penalties for these three guys, as cheating can't be accepted, it made me think that there are other sports players, especially in league, that have gone out and bashed people, raped women etc. and they're still playing (Matt Lodge comes to mind). Of course, ball tampering is bad, and we can't accept cheating in cricket or sport in general, but all he did was turn a blind eye to Bancroft and Warner concocting their own plan, and he's now being put through hell. Once he's punishment is finished, we need to forgive him and start again.
Same with Bancroft, he was just doing what he could to keep his spot in the team. And again its wrong what he did, but when it comes down to it, I think 9 out of 10 people in his position would have done the same thing.
Warner is the only one I don't feel sorry for, as he has been behind the negative culture in the team, and by the sounds of things at the moment, the one who created the whole plan. He's a grub. and one we don't need in our national team.
The penalties IMO are fair, especially after their denial of what they were doing, but I do think we need to stop giving these guys so much stick and get on with the cricket, as they still have a whole test to play!
I've always considered loading one side of the ball with perspiration (officers perspire, other ranks sweat) is a form of ball tampering and should be outlawed. Polish ons side of the ball but all young bowlers should be taught about wrist action,, finger placement, seam direction and bowling actions which all contribute to swing. I feel sometimes the art of swing bowling has been lost especially the ability to swing the old ball.

David Warner has not done himself and former team mates any favours at today's press conference which will add fuel to the fire of the alleged rife between Warner and the rest of the team.

The real story will come to light in 10 years time when all the current team have retired. Will be an interesting read.

Based on today's performance he will never don the Australian cap again. Will become a T20 gun for hire making $4 million a year on the circuit.

James Sutherland handed the whole saga poorly and his position need to be replaced.

Sutherland, Howard and Lehmann allowed this toxic culture to develop and now self destruct. Warner should have been dumped for Test cricket awhile a go.

Like the idea of a coach for the test team and another coach for the T20 and On day sides.

Look forward to seeing Steve Smith back in the team in 12 months time.

Crocodile tears from Mr Warner, that press conference was cringe worthy.

Why he brought his kids into it when he landed back in Aus is beyond me, why drag them into it?

LOL

Don't worry the Players Associations is trying to plead with CA to lower their punishments

More tears on their way I guess

Wonder what some of our past players think , last bloke I saw cry was Kim Hughes when he resigned in Brisbane and I feel I played my small part in it

We had a massive banner up that day advertising a Position Vacant for one Australian Captain with a list of the job requirements

Smith and Bancroft accept the bans and just want to move on and make it up to the public. Taking the bans is a positive in that direction. Warner looking like he will challenge which a suspect will end as a PR nightmare for him compared to the other two.
