Post by maxxy86 » Sat 21 May, 2016 4:52 pm

That was painful to watch and I hope jt makes a heap of changes.....my first move would be Taylor to 6.

Absolutely nothing to take from that.
Still the same old mistakes and weaknesses on display. But hey, line in the sand....

Pretty ordinary wasnt it? Taylor has added heaps in attack and defence.

Wasn't convincing at all. Take the 2 points quite happily though.

Yeah not that good, the halves still don't work well together. At least they were running a bit more, which is their strength, kicking game again pretty crap, poor options at 5th etc

Our defence looked a lot better today even though knights hardly threw much at us. Our go forward was good, halves again had poor kicking games. Giving away penalties seems to never improve. Good to see JAC and CheeKam getting the job done when called up to 1st grade spots and should both be kept in the side. Elijah Taylor will turn out to be our best signings the bloke is a workaholic, maxxy86 there's no way you could move him from lock to 6, defensively strong ball playing lock forwards are really important to have in your arsenal.. We'll take the win, well done

Our players again missed too many tackles - 38,
26 are missed by 4 players:
Lawrence 8
Halatau, Moses 7
Brooks 4

Our team selection could be much better, we have better players, Fine, Graham and Cherrington shall be picked before Halatau and Lovett.

Missed tackles and penalties are our Achilles heal, but I thought our defensive structure was a lot better like I said earlier the Knights didn't throw a lot at us but you can only defend what's put to you. As for team selection I agree with you in regards to fine getting a chance and I think Heleta should get a chance also, but making too many changes to the team in one hit is probably not the best... JAC and CheeKam got their chance today and hopefully it continues.

Leave him at lock and Brooks and Moses will improve out of sight.

I agree but mainly because he is playing the organising role. Brooks and Moses appear to be halves in skills but not in the ability to read a game.

Disappointing missed tackles from Lawrence and plenty of others.

The knights seemed to be rolling up the field pretty easy, carrying our forwards with them (apart from one or two of our blokes)

Brock Lamb for the Knights has only played a few games in NRL but his kicking game was way better than our halves. Every kick he put in was a contest, as opposed to mindless bombs or Brooks' love affair with kicking into legs. While the players were warming up,one of the trainers was putting up these massive spiral bombs to Rankin,20m away Brooks was practicing his usual bombs, why can the trainer do it, but not the "gun"'player?

Thank goodness we didn't have to depend on Lawrence and Sironen's tackling this week.

If we play like that next week a 2nd string Bronco's will put 40 on us, clunky was a good way to put it.

Clunky? It was like 2 one legged seagullls fighting over the last chip. I really don't know what happened to the side that played in rounds 1 and 2. Yeah, i know the Warriors and Manly were ordinary, but we put them to the sword. Since then, we've played against a few teams who were ordinary on the day, Parra, Storm, Newcastle twice etc and manged to look even worse then them. We've regressed badly from the team that played those first 2 rounds.
