Overdoing ET role in attack + sweep plays

Unread post by Eddie » Sun 12 Mar, 2017 9:25 pm

Hopefully Liddle in time can add some craft around the ruck.

I thought today far to often we were setting up for these big sweeps or ET tip on plays.

Penrith were just sliding off and dealing with it pretty well.

I think sometimes when there not working we need to mix things up a bit. Some more changes of angles around the ruck or even some simple dummy half running. Even when the forwards looked to offload once twice everyone was standing on their heels waiting for the next play (the big sweep).

I guess in some respects Rugby League has been the same since 1908 - If you lose the battle up front you are going to lose the game.

It's why Bennett can coach for 30 seasons.
