Just not a first grade squad
Too many reserve graders are making up the numbers ...if the story is correct about peyton ,then JT is on his last legs .but if we sign the big 4 we need others to make them a decent side .lovett got knocked backed every time he hit the defence ..Edwards ? .our centres ....
There is no doubt he have a below average roster with too many plodders.
However a lot of people in here were tipping us to make the finals in the pre season.
Maybe it was more hope then expectation.
We have zero depth in the club.

And the reason we have zero depth is because we have about 8 depth players playing in the top grade.
Correct, it's going to be a long season unfortunately.
15 of today's 17 were signed, re-signed or took up an option under the current coach.
The coach assembled the squad. The coach played Edwards over Felise. The coach started the only prop that we had on the bench. The coach played a backrower who has not played a game in 5 months. The coach is the reason our side has no direction.
I could go on. Where was our game plan?

Game plan was left on the bus inside JT's lunch box !Milky wrote: ↑Sun 19 Mar, 2017 10:16 pmThe coach assembled the squad. The coach played Edwards over Felise. Ah the nostalgia! I always thought that Payten would make a good coach. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Though it's probably just idiot Rothfield stirring the pot again.

So I just spent an hour typing up an NFL style breakdown of our depth chart and the site signed me out before I hit post and instead of saving the post in the browser it was just gone after I signed in. Feels good.
If I'm not mistaken, Woods, Ted and NoFo were the last 3 Potter signings still remaining, and they're arguably the 3 key pieces going forward. Moses and Brooks had long-standing options from a while back.
To be fair, would Tatola (0) and Felise (8 games) have made much of a dent in the Raiders' pack? If anything, I'd say they'd provide size and incentive to go harder, since they could be dropped at any moment. Chances are, the same 17 will get copy-pasted in again next week with ET and possibly Idris as potentials. A real lack of NRL experience sans Ballin in the reserves, think this brings up that depth thread from a couple weeks before season started.

Here's the depth chart I did anyway. I won't ramble like I was going to but what you see is that we have a huge unbalance. We have almost zero depth in the backs and a ton of untested forwards.
This would be a problem, if not for the fact that our actual starting forwards completely suck.
Fullback: James Tedesco, Justin Hunt, Jordan Rankin, Watson Heleta
Wing: David Nofoaluma, Moses Suli, Jordan Rankin, Justin Hunt, Ryland Jacobs
Centre: Kevin Naiqama, Michael Chee Kam, Jamal Idris, Watson Heleta, Ryland Jacobs
Halfback/five-eighth: Mitchell Moses, Luke Brooks, Jack Littlejohn, Justin Hunt, Jordan Rankin
Front Row: Aaron Woods, Tim Grant, Ava Seumanufagai, Sauaso Sue, Joel Edwards, JJ Felise/Junior Tatola/Wes Lolo/Jordan Grant
Hooker: Matt McIlwrick, Matt Ballin, Jacob Liddle
Second Row: Chris Lawrence, Sauaso Sue, Josh Aloiai, Joel Edwards, Kyle Lovett, Michael Chee Kam, Jamal Idris, Matt Eisenhuth/Taniela Paseka/Esan Marsters/Bayley Sironen
Lock: Elijah Taylor, Joel Edwards, Tim Grant, Sauaso Sue
It's time to just give some of these dudes a crack. There is no way known that any of those backrowers are going to be doing worse than Lawrence, Edwards, Lovett et al. Those guys starting ahead of exciting talent like Paseka or Felise does my damn head in.

Something is up with the team.
They are not playing fluently, sure it's only round 3 but there are problems across the park.
Last year our defence was ordinary but this year our attack has lost its zing as well.
Even Teddy threw a panicked forward pass. His attack is reduced to jinking and weaving.still the only stand out.
We missed ET's work rate and link with the halves, we also miss not having a geniune dummy half for the 80 mins. Maybe Ballin can add some calm and direction to the team
Im don't know if contracts are the problem, the coaching strategies or maybe even the relationship between players and coach but I can state with certainty that there are few nervous players, player managers, coaches and exec's at the Tigers's tonight!

Sorry it's actually 14, my mistake, but the general point remains.

NOD OF APPROVAL
The Wests Tigers have a ready-made replacement for Jason Taylor. Brett Kimmorley has done his apprenticeship as an assistant coach and is highly rated around the clubs.
His name has been mentioned inside the Wests Tigers boardroom as an option.

keep throwing darts , Buzz , you'll hit the target eventually !
Kimmorely would be Payten level bad.
