Grant determined to improve performance
Thu 23rd March, 09:00AM

After two disappointing defeats in a row, Wests Tigers prop forward Tim Grant says the team's performance must improve this Sunday against the Storm.

Answering questions about the termination of Jason Taylor as Coach and the appointment of Andrew Webster as Interim Coach, the 29-year-old Grant said his only focus and belief was on improving the efforts and results delivered by the team over the past fortnight.

"The last two weeks aren't good enough," Grant said emphatically.

"It's not good enough in professional sport. I think we're all scrutinised by performance and anyone in day-to-day life is determined by performance, and ours needs to improve.

"We missed too many tackles and dropped too many balls.

"As players, what we can control is our performance, and moving forward, that's what we've got to do and that's what we're going to strive to do this Sunday against the Storm."

"I want to play football for Wests Tigers," Grant said when asked about the Interim Coach.

"I want to play football for anyone they appoint as Coach.

"I have complete faith in him [Andrew Webster] and I have complete faith in anyone that Wests Tigers appoint as Coach or Interim Coach. As players, that's our job."

"The last 2 weeks weren't good enough"
How about the last 4 seasons haven't been good enough? Youre being paid handsomely to play football people, if I put in that effort at my job I'd be sacked.
Tigers tragic since 1980.

The last two weeks the score has basically reflected the difference in the playing rosters. Okay if we have a day when everything goes right and the Storm are down we could get close. I know I keep harping on it but with our backrow and centre stocks being so low its very hard to see them beating anyone in the near future

too true supercoach about the strength of the team-centres and second row are the teams achilles heel at present.
ironic.really when you consider the sheens years when the team was overloaded with second rowers.
we have to be up and storm off their game to even get close.
im sure the majority of nrl supporters do wish us well.

Today we saw a true champion in Winx, and a true bludger in Cleary!

Good little interview, unlike others has said the right thing and express some pride in the club.

Everyone has a lot of opinions at times like this, but the 11 posters above me seem particularly positive for some reason, I can't put my finger on it...

Well, if "this mob" want to keep their jobs next year, they had better start showing some heart.

Probably no coincidence that we leaked a lot more points when he left the field after about thirty minutes the last couple of weeks.

Well last week Rapana ran past him like he was tied to a lamp post and they scored, this week JAC did the same. Defending in exaclty the same position. He's a slug around the ruck when he's fatigued, and all teams need to do is make him back up in defence then get a quick man into dummy half and run straight past him.
