Possible inclusions for Dragons

Post by teddy23 » Mon 29 May, 2017 7:18 pm

St George Illawarra are ready to breathe fire in the NRL again with star duo Gareth Widdop and Josh Dugan possible inclusions for this week's clash against the Wests Tigers.

After missing the Dragons' past two NRL games with a fractured cheekbone, Dugan only has to come through unscathed in Wednesday's State of Origin to take on the Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Saturday.

Widdop, who hasn't played since round eight, is rated the lesser chance of returning from a knee injury but participated in the club's first field session on Monday following last week's bye.

"He was looking crisp and silky, just a reminder of what he can do," veteran winger Jason Nightingale said after training.

"He got a lot of confidence out of being out there because he'd been doing a lot of straight line running and boring monotonous stuff that you have to do when you come back from injury.

showed in some of his ball playing."

The possible inclusions of the key pair will undoubtedly boost a Dragons side that snapped a three-game losing slide with a win over the Warriors before their break.

Dugan's probable return means veteran Jason Nightingale will move back to the wing, and Kalifa Faifai Loa likely to drop out of the side.

The Dragons will take on a Tigers outfit that could get an injection of new blood of their own in mid-season pick-up Tuimoala Lolohea.

Lolohea arrived at Concord on Monday morning and is all but certain to be thrown straight into the halves despite widely being tipped to be the club's future fullback.

Widdop killed us last time we played them, Dugan will get injured at SOO with his history :roll

Not sure if Widdop playing would be good or not, if he gets rushed he may be restricted and put some pressure on him and we might use that as a strength to make errors.

Thoughts?

Widdops finally been showing his Melb days form thanks to his forwards laying a platform, both he and Dugan are very good and would be better for us if theyre out

Do any of you guys think that Woods and Tedesco will back-up?

Considering their attitudes, I doubt it.

Whether it's suspension or injury, star players always seem to return when against us

Dugan and Widdop are a plus for them but them become irrelevant if we can somehow stop their forwards

If our team plays like it has the last few rounds it won't matter who the Dragons pick in their team.

BREAKING NEWS Woods and Tedesco out of Friday Night vs Dragons game due to Turf Toe! Sorry, there was a Media Embargo on that until Thursday. I'll get in trouble now!

Exactly. Leaving the best club in the comp to play for some grubby douchebags. Of course it's about money.
