I know Mcilwrick is good but it sucks Liddle taking up a bench spot, real 50/50 there for me.

It's a tough call this one isn't it.

1. Tedesco
2. Nofoaluma
3. Suli - move him next to Nofo.
4. MWZ
5. Kev
6. Lolohea
7. Brooks/Rankin -- Rankin is only there if Brooks is injured.
8. Woods
9. McIlwrick
10. Ava
11. Lawrence/Lovett -- Lovett is only there if Lawrence is injured.
12. ET
13. Aloiai/Tatola -- Tatola is only there if Aloiai is injured.

14. Grant
15. Felise
16. Tatola/Sue -- Sue is only there if Aloiai is injured.
17. Liddle

We need 3 big middle players at all times. Time is up for players like MCK, JLJ & Sue.

Marsters?

On today's performance I reckon that Ivan will use the rest of the season to blood Marsters into competing in the NRL. Ivan will focus on the defensive patterns that he will want to implement next year. All bodes well.

Marsters was good but where do you play him. I assume he is an edge player and he will get his chance in the backrow at some point. I suppose you could play him in the centres.

If we only played one hooker I'd play Marsters as the backrow option on the bench.

No, not centres - we would lose a strong candidate for a high-impact player off the bench. Agree backrow option off the bench. Until he gets to know NRL defensive patterns then we will see.

He is clearly a strong runner but had some defensive lapses but then again we looked a little chaotic on the defensive side. It appeared that Esan and Tui were not familiar with Ivan's patterns. There was one moment when Esan moved in and Tui moved forward to stop Widdup and lo and behold a big hole opened up for Frizell. I don't fault either player because it was clear that they appeared to be following instructions -
they lacked communications. Both will improve over the season.
