He has some ability. His running game is unreal. He can put in some good kicks. The problem is that he isn't a top quality halfback because he has too many poor plays compared to good plays.

You need to pay him heaps less and put quality players around him. Even on 550k for a first grade halfback it's way too much.

It looks to me like he's trying to play to a structure and not what he sees infront of him. So many times today the bomb wasn't on due to rushing defence, but instead of taking another option like grubbing or running it he seems insistent on putting up a bomb he knows is going to be rushed and off the mark.
He needs to start playing what's in front of him again.

Cleary son has the winning kick from the sideline and he nails it ,brooks hardly ever takes control in a game . I hope Ivan wants his son at the tigers when brooks contract is up

He is a number 7 , he should know that . But he just doesn't have it

He cops it too harshly on here. Cleary for instance wasn't much better if any better than Brooks excluding his goal kicking.

It's more a dollar issue. Brooks isn't a great halfback who wins you games and I doubt he ever will be.

I to am fed up with the lack of decisions on the last.
Brooks has improved his running and his involvement but at the moment he is just a shuffler. I am still waiting for him to take the game by the scruff. He lacks instinct. It's hooker or halfback in ISP next year I think for Brooks.
Still concerned about lohehea at Fullback next year think we really are stupid to not sign a dedicated fullback. And by do we lack a hooker. Even still I think Jacob will probably be playing part of the year in ISP next year to get his strength up.
Good to see Cleary can make a rubbish side play commited.

Very average 1st half, all the usual stuff, poor 5th tackle options, some shocking passes, than I thought he had a strong second half. Very hard to shine as no7 when every set your 90m from the try line. Badger was poor as always and certainly gifted the Pennys plenty of yards and possession

No more excuse for brooks ,,he just isn't a top line first grade number 7 ... never put any pressure on the catchers

I must admit nofaloma penalised for a flop when he was in the tackle the whole time is a joke. A flop is when you just come into the tackle late and lie all over the guy.

It's not that bad we are only 17 players short of a top eight side.

He's too easily distracted, can't kick short and his D is still a liability despite improving slightly.

Tyson Gambles going to take his jersey sometime in the near future, and then we'll sign Nathan.
