MM = 11 missed tackles from our hooker. That is a huge issue.
Plus his crap service from dummy half
Yep he is a good fill in but Liddle is in another league.
Quality depth but not a starter. Liddle a few years away yet.
He'll start next year.

Compare the stats of Twal and Woods.
Twal, how good could he be.....
Twal > Woods now yet alone in a year or two's time.
Go and have a lie down Earl.
I honestly don't know how anyone can watch the game today and think anything differently.

Twal has been huge since he started in 1st grade and is getting every week. This kid should step up even more with Packer and Matulino next year.

Those stats are impressive for a 20 year old prop.

Some of those defensive stats look like an under 20's game

Serious question: has Tim Grant made 100m in a game this year?
He only played 40 minutes - and missed one tackle - give him a break.

If McIlwrick is going to play like he did today - we are in trouble.

Passes were exceptionally bad, 11 missed tackles and I noticed half the time he was so slow getting to DH that Lolohea had to jump in.

Has his knees given in or what.

And again today there were at least two occasions (same last week) players turning their backs after tackles and then NO markers - that is unforgivable!!!!

Im surprised the Hooth only got 85 metres in attack. I thought he made more than that.
nrl.com have him at 101m now

Constantly getting bashed out of games this year. Our kicking game never finds the line or space and we are forever coming out from our own end in attack.

Our real problem for mine is we lack aggression, height and size in our edge forwards. Taylor and Lawrence are so similar. They're about the same size and while probably more skilful, lack the ability to punch through defence instead relying on the line they run, footwork or ball playing to be effective. Whilst good players in their own right, from a team balance perspective I think we're lacking that size on the edge with both out there at the same time.

Playing a big boy in Eisenhuth has helped in the middle. Playing a third prop at lock with a good motor is the way to go in the modern game to help with the metres and workload of the middle forwards. Our dummy half and lock in attack have become ineffective for years (even when we had Robbie) as they seem to inherit so many more tackles constantly covering the middle and being pushed to cover the edges. If we continue to persist with short and light backrowers at the same time then we'll keep getting bashed on the park. We need to bench one of the smaller guys and bring in or sign a big aggressive edge player (I'm not sure McQueen is the answer).

There aren't too many games our backrowers have averaged over a 100m, yet the good teams do it every game. Any starting prop who can't pull off 100m a game shouldn't be in first grade in my opinion.

The game was disgraceful. It was a lotto draw with both teams coming together for 100+ missed tackles.

The Hooker is doing his best but there is a reason he has been to 4 clubs in 4 years.

Liddle is better already. He will start without question next season.

Chee-kam and Twal were both impressive again today, as were Hooth and Lolohea. But as for Sue, what is going on with him?! We can't afford to have someone of Sue's impact only playing 25 minutes off the bench. It leaves us with effectively a 2 man bench.

I didn't think we were that bad though, despite everything. We matched it with a really talented Penrith side for 70 minutes, even though we played really inconsistent.

On another note our pack for next year is looking good: Taylor, Matulino, Packer, Twal, Eisenhuth, Sue, Aloiai, Lawrence, McQueen, (possibly) Grant. Couple more depth signings and another backrower and we should be sweet.

I reckon that Ivan should give ET another shot at Hooker. His defence is good and he does see himself as a ball player so why not give him another go?

Next year we will also have the option of playing Gamble at five-eighth and Reynolds at hooker. Gamble can kick goals. He can kick goals but better still he has a good in field kicking game. He has good vision and beautiful five eighth hands. I think he will surprise many.

I predict that our spine next year will be Lolohea, Gamble, Brook and Reynolds.

I would also like to see Ivan go for Tom Opacic from Redcliffe as a full back.

If we're playing Reynolds at hooker and Gamble at 5/8, I'll be more than surprised.

It all comes back to our kicking game, both in defence and attack it is poor. Improve the kicking game and we will be competive.

I have a funny feeling Brook's hammys are restricting his long defensive kicking game and there is nobody else capable of doing that role

For next year, Reynolds has a good long kicking game, as well as a great kick chase.
