So what exactly are you saying here?
A better team would do better than the 05 team: ie win the comp.
A worse team would do worse: ie GF runners up or less.

So unless we win the comp on the October evening....I hope its not too chilly for your stroll.
Huh.......a better team could do worse...good luck with that Simon...15 other teams get better and worse......

I like this question... Would the '05 Grand Final side have beaten the '09 Premiers?
Wests Tigers don't need a Coach.. The playing group has taken over..

BOB......my point is that a lesser team(our 05) won the comp,so it would be silly to write off this one, which IMO looks a much sharper team.

Just in case you were planning to buy me a coffee with your winnings, please don't as I don't drink coffee. I am not interested in any bank interest so you can have that all to yourself win lose or draw.
We need to both be present at the time of setting up the account so we can add both signatures to the withdrawal rules. I live in Sydney. Is that feasible for you?
Unfortunately, I am a carer 24/7 so there is no way I can leave Adelaide. I thought that what you said about us both having to be there for setting the bet up would be the case so I was sort of prepared for it's cancellation. So, with your concurrence because of my circumstances, all bets are off unless you want to fly down here which I don't think is fair on you. You get the last call because you have the most to lose. Whatever happens, I want you to know that I have never held any grudges or animosity towards you. "Go the mighty Wests Tigers". Regards, Quintus.
Cool mate. If by some chance work commitments see me land in Adelaide prior to kick off ill let you know. I guess this means I can go back to hoping the tigers win the comp....which by the way....wont happen! Hope we go close though.

Its either a gee up or you are a dead set interesting person.

What if we make the gf????I assume you will be going for the opposition to save urself the 25k you were offering???
What a person........really!!!!!

PS.....I am on the tigers already,as I do every year, and as I did in 05 where I cleaned up nicely and watched my beloved boys win the comp.I would have felt like a right person If i was shooting my mouth off at the start of the year and offered someone stoopid odds to prove a point.

PPS.....I did not think we would make the eight at the start of 05,and if this isnt a better team than that one well I will walk down Darling St nude in peak hour.
Its not about how good the team is. Its about how often that team wins. On paper i dont think we are necessarily better than 2005, but i dont think we are worse. Mind you, its been that way for many unsuccessful years since 2005. When betting i go by stats, not feelings. Whether i bet on the team or not, it doesnt change how good the team goes. If we win the comp and i lose money so be it. If we dont win the comp then I have a lot of money to go out and drink away my sorrows! Put your money on the tigers at $15 $13 or $11. Go for it. Ill wait till they blow out and consider whether i take the longer odds or not.

so we played aweful at the end of 2004 then won the comp....so we played awesome at the end of 2009 so that means we will......???????........come last???? maybe if we were aweful at the end of 2009 we would win the comp like 2005.

I know its hard to grasp......

But our form going into this year is way better than it was going into 05.

If the tigers was a horsie worsie, you would be backing it with much better form than in 04.

What a dunce you are FTG trying to take me to the cleaners on here. Go away and when you are ready to play with the big boys show me your money and I will take you on.

I'm not sure how people can say our 2010 team is better than our 2005 team. In 2005 our fullback, five eighth, halfback and hooker were all world class. You can only really say that about our five eighth and hooker at the moment out of those 4 important positions.

Is this directed at me Quintus???

If it is, ive given you every chance to take this bet. Ive quoted $26 for us to win the comp to which you spoke a big game about taking for $1000.... to which you now claim you cant due to location, which is a shame. If this was directed at me please specify how you are able to make this bet happen. For the $25,000 profit you are believing you will get for your $1000, a flight to an from Sydney for $100 each way and about 6 hours of your time id say is well worth it. Im certain you get a day off here or there or can arrange to have someone else look after the person you look after for a day. If i thought $25,000 was certain, as you clearly do, id be on a plane within minutes.

If this wasnt directed at.... disregard.

$2.50 to make the 8
$6.00 to make the 4
$26.00 to win the comp
I agrre with you their FHG, that are the right odds .

I got $26 in November, and I would have put on a fair amount if I could have got $2.50 to makethe 8...but $1.85 is the best I have seen them at., and they are still that

Centrebet has the WT at $3.25 now to make the Top 4....

Going into 2005 hodgson was the only player with any credentials.
Prince had a good 04 but not world class.
Marshall hadn't been able to string a season together yet and the same goes for Farah.
These players became world class after 05 not going into 05.

Form from the end of one season going into another means suite bugger all.

I too would wait, I think we'll have a bit of a tough start to the year, the odds will lenghten if we do...weve a good run home though.
The critical time is between the byes imo.

That's true, but I was saying that at the moment we shouldn't say the team this year is as good or better than the team at the end of 2005. There is no way we can say yet that the players in those important positions will play like world class players. We don't even know who will play fullback or halfback yet so it's way to early to say that the team this year is better or as good than our 2005 team.

I doubt you would get $2.50 anywhere for Wests Tigers to make the top 8. At this stage most people think Wests are about a 50/50 chance to make the top 8 which means you will probably get a bit less than $2 to make the finals. Probably around $1.80
