It didn't cost us the game at all. Everybody clocked off especially Tedesco. Teddy's to blame for that Feldt try, he was nowhere near where he should have been. But, everyone is to blame for that one, we weren't exactly on top before the Chee-Kam penalty.
We were clearly on top at the time both game wise and on the scoreboard.
Cowboys were all over us to start the second half. They were 30 out when Chee-Kam gave away the penalty. Then Teddy waddles around like it's under 9s and is way out of position when Morgan kicks it. To me it just seems like they all remembered that we aren't playing for anything except pride and let themselves get sloppy.
He didn't have a great game but Teddy wasn't out of position, he was over near the sideline in cover defence - a quick play the ball and then the kick. He is fast but he is not Usain Bolt. There were others closer, that could have got to the ball before Feldt.

I agree to a point, Teddy had to be over for cover defence, but he was practically in line with the ball and walking if not stopped. Given they were a fair distance out and Marsters & Nofo had them covered most of the night, he could've easily given himself an extra 10-15 metres. That and every Cowboys kicker being on the opposite side of the field meant he should've been at least making some sort of effort to cover the middle. MWZ had to hold his wing for the cross-field kick, but it just shows what having class kickers can do for your team. Doubt Brooks or Tui would've seen that play.
Sometimes a kick is just too good, and though Teddy could've been positioned better and we could've had more desperation elsewhere on the field, I think that was just a bloody good play.

You'd never see Slater or Boyd out of position like that.

Chee Kam is a 2nd rower, Look who we have out, Idris Suli & Kev. Probably our 5th choice centre.

My immediate thoughts that I yelled at the TV when he put the shoulder in were "you effing idiot, you've let them back in the game"

Simply stupidity from MCK that definitely changed the game by taking the foot of the cows throat. It gave them the field position that they had been lacking and then the confidence came on the back of it.

I think he's improved though. That's a good sign for 2018.

I think our guys were fooled by the kick. It left the boot and looked like it was going to go dead.

I thought he had a good game last night.

Sure he might have given away the penalty but ultimately I would rather MCK be in the team than Lovett.

He isn't a centre but does do a few silly things every now and again.

I think he is a great depth player, he has talent but needs to gain some discipline in order to get a crack in our 17.

If my memory serves me correctly he played frontrow for Canberra in the under 20's and was the NYC player of the year.
He is playing out of position in the centres.

We were fairly flat for large portions of last night. I suspect the boys struggled to get up after a physical encounter with the Chooks the week before. The grubber kick for Feldt's second try was the nail in the coffin, no desperation to chase that ball and Lolo had nothing in attack due to making 35 tackles, the Cows did their homework on him as JLJ provides little to no threat with the ball in hand.

Backrow. He's a backrower by trade.

I think someone on here are being harsh on MCK.

He is a second rower not centre. Even the great lock Bradley Clyde use to struggle when Canberra used him as a stop gap centre.

MCK needs to bulk up in the offseason and play off the bench in 2018.

I agree with you Everett. Some people on here really have it in for certain players and it doesn't matter what good things they do, they will always get slamned when they make the slightest error. I think Chee-Kam was one of the Tigers' best players last night and has been the last few weeks. He made several strong, determined runs, showed commitment in defence and cleaned up one or two loose balls on the deck. Regarding the shoulder hit, it was a questionable penalty and to hold him responsible for the ensuing Cowboys try is ridiculous. He is a second rower and, in the end, it was probably a lack of overall speed in the Tigers backs that was a major contributing factor in the loss. They had little penetration in attack and couldn't contain the NQ right side attack but this is not Chee-Kam's or Chee-Kam's fault as they were both playing out of position.

I've knocked Chee Kam over the season but he has been really really good over the past couple of weeks. He was great last night. I reckon that penalty was nowhere near a penalty.

MCK was having one of his best games for us until that moment. It was a stupid moment. Until then, I was confident we could go hold out and win.
