I think Noffo needs to focus on keeping his wing spot next year over being captain.
He was ordinary this year and has competition for next.

Ill pick Taylor.
— Only WT player to play every game.
— 4th in NRL, Total Metres.
— 3rd in NRL, Offloads.
— 5th in NRL, Tackle Breaks.

Sure defensively Nofoaluma needs work but so did that whole right side...the more he played with Marsters his reads and general defence improved at the back end of the year..conceding far less points down that edge...

Improve his D ...I'll take that kind of ordinary Year..
Wests Tigers don't need a Coach.. The playing group has taken over..

Personal stats aside, its his liabilities that stood out to me. Aweful under a high ball, even worse reading the play and numbering up in defence. I like his passion but this side no longer has walkup starters and he has some work to do during the break.

there are three biggest weaknesses with noffo

1. his defensive reads are absolutely horrible
2. when they do get on his outside, he turns like a truck
3. when he is in space, he isn't fast enough, hence not a threat until we are closer to the line and getting there becomes difficult coz if your winger isnt fast, the defence can compress up on you.
My Round 1 Team 2018

1. lolo 2. noffa 3. suli 4. milne 5. fonua
6. reynolds 7. brooks
8. packer 9. ET 10. Twal
11. McQuen 12. Lawrence 13. Eiso
14. Matulino 15. McIllwrick 16. Sue 17. Aloiai
18. Marsters 19. Benji 20. Grant 21. K Naiqama
Next: Liddle, MCK, Felise, MWZ, Thompson, Rochow, Gamble

I'm guessing there's 3 candidates.
Lawrence
Taylor
Reynolds
Interesting to see your thoughts and if you think there's any other potential leaders.
My pick is Reynolds, I don't see Lawrence as a guaranteed starter each week.

Got to be ET and Reynolds but only if they do not clash as personalities (Only Ivan will know) I think ET would lead by his actions and Reynolds by his actions and mouth. Anything will be an improvement to cottonmouth behind the goal line in the past BUT hopefully we don't spend to much time in that position for the future. Lawrence must be club Captain

I'm going to have a stab and say that Reynolds will be the captain .....he has plenty of NRL experience, played origin and is right in the middle of things at the 5/8 position,he will help Brooks and the young forwards as will Packer and McQueen....sort of getting a bit excited with this bus trip,it will be a wonderful journey...
You may see me struggle...but you will never see me quit... :D

I don't want Reynolds as captain. It should go to someone who has been here for a while. I like Lawrence or ET as captain. I think both could fit into the top team but at the same time you could pick a backrow of Eisenhuth, McQueen and Aloiai.

Reynolds could also lose form and Benji could replace him.

We have a lot more depth now. It's hard to state that anyone has a guaranteed spot in the team over the course of a season.

So if we had bought Cameron Smith, he would not be your pick as captain?

The best man for the job should be Captain irrespective of how long he’s been at the club. Taylor, Lawrence, Packer, Reynolds- all viable options imo.

What is the difference between the playing captain and the club captain without stating the bleating obvious.
Parra did as such in 2014.
Tim Manah was demoted to club captain as Jarryd Hayne moved to captain.
In all the pressers it was only Hayne...
So if anyone could shed some light as to what role would Lawrence or what role did Mannah have as a club captain?

Ritchie Cunningham is too nice to be captain. After enduring Woods's 'nice guy' captaincy, we need someone with grunt and motivation, who talks on the field - either Taylor or Reynolds would be a better choice.

It was you that stated that our captain should be someone who has been here awhile, not me.

For what it is worth, it would be Taylor or Reynolds for me.

Pick Co Captains.
Lawrence can live the captain dream, but I don't want him to be captain if it means he is a guaranteed starter. To me he is in the top 20, maybe not the 17 and probably not the 13. Making him a Co Captain can put him infront of the Media.

Taylor, Reynolds, Marshall, Even Packer Or McQueen can step in when needed.

Given that we have a high percentage of Polynesians in the team I'd give the captaincy to ET. ( Is that politically correct idk.....But don't care either)
Well its nearly time to have a 'CRACK'....Go you :sign:
