The eight

Unread post by white » Wed 08 Nov, 2017 7:34 pm

I will be happy if we can make the eight next year. But seriously looking at our draw and competition it will be hard to be above Melbourne, cowboys, roosters,Parra,Penrith, manly,Cronulla and Brisbane. I just know how we can do it.

I could easily see Parra & Brisbane missing out on the top 8. Most of the others are close to certanties, hoopefully one of them could have a bad season and drop out.

I could see us, Newcastle, Canberra & Dragons easily slotting into the finals.

1. Cowboys
2. Roosters
3. Storm
4. Manly
5. Penrith
6. Cronulla
7. Tigers
8. Dragons

In one of our worst years ever we:
-Beat Manly once and almost a second time
-Came within 1-8 points of beating Roosters, Parra, Cronulla and Melbourne
-Beat the Cowboys once and should of beaten them again later in the year

The only teams we struggled against there were Brisbane and Penrith.

These top teams don't really worry me anymore, especially with Ivan at the helm. I think it's safe to have a little hope of making the 8. So, bring on next year, I'm pumped.

The way I see it..Storm,Chooks are specials,Sharks and Cowboys probably and all the rest have some hope if they have some luck, but Titian’s,Dogs and Warriors will need a ton of luck

The coach is top rate, recruitment has been good the front office seems settled realistically anything from 8th to 5th should be attainable,IMO the only reason this might not happen is injuries to key personnel then again who really knows as all of us long term supporters know only to well.

I don't see panthers making the 8 again next year. Although that could all change if Maloney goes there. Also I think Cronulla will experience a downfall. I reckon the 8 will be (in no order) Storm, roosters, Cowboys, broncos, eels, raiders, tigers, manly.

I like the style of roster the WTs have put together for 2018. However the last few years I’ve picked them to just scrape into the 8. So for that reason I’m saying 9th.
