So taking a look through the top contracted players on the Tigers website, it looks like player weights have been updated. Still a few guys missing photos, but I've noticed a few changes from last year's playing weights...since I like typing, read on...

Forwards:

Alex Twal: Height = 190cm weight = 104kg (2kg down on last year from memory)

Ben Matulino: Height = 193cm weight = 107kg

Chris Lawrence: Height = 188cm weight = 100kg (no change)

Chris McQueen: Height = 189cm weight = 106kg

Elijah Taylor: Height = 190cm (doesn't look it to me) weight = 101kg

Jacob Liddle: Height = 184cm weight = 91kg

JJ Felise: Height = 184cm weight = 105kg (down 6kg)

Josh Aloiai: Height = 189cm weight = 106kg (down 4kg from memory)

Matt Eisenhuth: Height = 197cm weight = 110kg (up 4kg)

Matt McIlwrick: Height = 180cm weight = 97kg (pretty sure he's gained a couple)

Robbie Rochow: Height = 192cm weight = 103kg

Russell Packer: Height = 187cm weight = 119kg

Sauaso Sue: Height = 188cm weight = 105kg (down 2kg)

Tim Grant: Height = 195cm weight = 110kg (up 1kg)

Backs:

Benji Marshall: Height = 183cm weight = 91kg

Corey Thompson: Height = 178cm weight = 91kg

David Nofoaluma: Height = 182cm weight = 94kg (down 3kg)

Esan Marsters: Height = 185cm weight = 105kg (down 5kg)

Josh Reynolds: Height = 182cm weight = 89kg

Kevin Naiqama: Height = 177cm weight = 93kg (down 1kg)

Luke Brooks: Height = 180cm weight = 88kg (down 1-2kg from memory)

Mahe Fonua: Height = 185cm weight = 103kg (has to be lighter than when he was in the UK)

MWZ: Height = 186cm weight = 94kg (down 2kg from memory)

Michael Chee-Kam: Height = 190cm weight = 100kg (down 2-3kg from memory)

Moses Suli: Height = 189cm weight = 109kg (up 3kg)

Pita Godinet: Height = 175cm weight = 85kg

Taane Milne: Height = 183cm weight = 99kg

Would be interested to see how much Benji has lost over the last year. Looks a lot slimmer.

He will indeed, however he's also been hampered by the stress fractures and hasn't got the miles in his legs like the rest of the squad so his fitness levels aren't going to be as high.

Twal sounds like he's put on 1-2kgs, was a bit light last year and was told to bulk up. Gamble's pretty big. Bigger than i thought. I wonder if our backs losing weight is an attempt to help them increase pace?

Glad the Hooth has bulked up, big lad but looked a tad thin last year.

Not sure where Kevvy has lost weight, the bloke looks like a condom full of walnuts, not an ounce of fat on him.

Jesus Packer will hurt some people (legally,) this year.

If players were ranked on physique, Kev would be up there. Bonus points for the hair.

Me too. Especially after reading his defensive stats last week. I'm changing my line-up.

Just for fun, it's interesting to compare the modern player weights to the times when the game was semi professional. The following are from the Balmain 1981 squad.

Forwards

David Grant 188cm 96 kg
Neil Whittaker 178 cm 77 kg
Neil Pringle 181 cm 91 kg
Gary Spears 180 cm 94 kg
Ron Pilon 185 cm 85 kg
Ian Thompson 186 cm 96 kg
Wayne Pearce 180 cm 86 kg

Backs

Alan McMahon 186 cm 92 kg
Larry Corowa 178 cm 78 kg
Wayne Miranda 185 cm 90 kg
Olsen Filipaina 175 cm 88 kg
Wayne Wigham 191 cm 92 kg
Mal Creevey 168 cm 68 kg
Percey Knight 178 cm 83 kg

Tigers ran last in a 12 team comp with Frank Stanton as coach.
