Great game from Benji.

As far as im concerned, when everyone is fit, Benji should be picked first in the halves and you work out what you wanna do with Brooks/Reynolds after that.

I agree he has to be starting. I'd be one of the first to say Brooks should be dropped to reggies but he is one of the only players with a bit of speed which helped make that try saver. It's a good problem to have but this is going to create a lot of issues with selections.

He was awesome. It was great to see him back at the club, and finally having some decent pigs in front helped a lot. Of course smashing Tedesco rates a mention

Benji Marshall - great defence, effective kicking game, controlling the team, composed and keeping everyone calm under pressure. Never in a million years would I thought I would ever say that about him!

We will be relying on Benji for totally different reasons than we did in the past - not for the speedy break, miracle ball or amazing side step anymore, but for composure, game smarts and leading the team around the park. Who would ever have thought?

Good on Benji for having the humility and wherewithal to allow his game to evolve in this way, so that he can still be an asset and a match winner, rather than trying to rehash his glory days and just fizzing out as liability and a has been, like so many others have done before him. I hope he has a ripper of a season and goes out a winner! 😁

And like him or not, I think Wayne Bennet needs to take some of the credit for Benji's transformation and maturity, as a person and a football player, also.

Benji controlled the game. As Ben Hunt did in the StG-V-Donks game.
Neither weren't overly fast or did special plays but both brought a sense of calm and composure to their teams. Mitchell Pearce pulled out of special stuff to get the Knights over the line. I think we need Benji for that composure because we have the forwards to match it was some teams and we don't have anything special in the backs.

I really enjoyed Benji's game management today. To be honest I think he was the difference while the team was under pressure. And the hit on Tedesco was a bonus.

Was astounded that he took control of the game so well. Shame we didn't see this when Sheens had the 7 on his back.

We wouldn't have won without him today, his game management was excellent so it's easy to overlook the couple of wayward passes he threw. The fact that he had not played in any of the trials and had no match fitness also spoke volumes about his attitude today.
