Ridiculous. Aloiai is our best backrower and should be close to the first person picked.
He's not our best back rower.

Cleary will stay loyal to those who played so well for us against the Roosters. 1000%
Are you kidding? Who is a better back rower than Aloiai?
Taylor
Disagree. Love Taylor but think Aloiai could end up being one of the best backrowers in the comp if he remains injury free.

Unchanged unless someone outside the squad is fit and ready to go

Rochow is the number one at the moment.

Rochow is solid but Aloia is that x factor I think we need.

That really destructive runner.

Agree Aloiai has that "x factor" about him plus a bit of mongrel our pack has lacked over the years.

We need him to be injury free to bring out his best.

Rochow and Chee Kam have both played well and deserve to retain their positions.

Taylor is a tackling machine which all teams need.

Great position to be in with players fighting for a spot.

I think Nofo would be happy to play reserve grade this week and avoid the flying machines

Nope we need points to beat the Storm my side put 30 past the Dogs...performance should be rewarded...Quadja and Gamble would tear the Storm a new one...

It's a harsh call dropping MWZ, but I think Nofo deserves the spot.
I'd honestly be a bit more comfortable with Mcilwrick at hooker, but Godinet played well against the rorters, and he's also quite versatile, so I'd be keeping him there for another game.
I also think that Fonua would be the best for the other spot in the centres, though I'm not entirely convinced on him.
If the Storm score down Nofo's side what will we be saying
I would give him more time in ISP
Make him real hungry for his spot
I wouldn't give it back that easy
This is exactly right there is no point dropping him for one game and saying welcome back when those in the top grade have done no wrong. Make him earn his spot through consistent good performances not just one. It’s easy to prove a point once not so much to do it multiple times.
Agree %100 MWZ deserves a second game also, yes he made a couple of bad decisions but he also dug in aswell.
If he makes poor reads again this week and it costs us then maybe.
But Nof needs to as you said get hungry and earn it.

If Brooks doesn't step up, what about a Benji/Reynolds combo in the halves?

I would only change Kevin Naiqama to the bench with Pita Godinet out for Matt Mcillwrick. Daane Milne takes his place in the centers if the Coach agrees he has earned it, ELSE Gamble steps up.

Could have Pita stay and Kevin just out for daane Milne/Gamble.

I am worried because Melbourne put defensive issues to the sword. I don't think Pita can win vs Smith, I also think Melbourne will open a Kevin sized hole.

Kev out.

MCK to centre if Aloiai is fit who gets the bench spot.

No Aloiai, Gamble to center. Gamble to cover for Benji if he struggles to play 80 this week.
We will smash em 50+ get on.

Cleary is a smart operator
Reading all these comments makes me think he will tweak the team just a little
That will make things just that little bit harder for the Storm
If Milne moved into center and Gamble came in for Godinet
Does this equal better defence
I think so
Also gives us more kicking and attacking options with Gamble
These changes will allow us to have four forwards on the bench

I agree with those saying Ivan is unlikely to make any changes. As much as Kev wasn't great - I'm not sure there is a better option at the moment and until one presents itself (in other words, someone steps up and earns the right to that centre spot), I think Ivan will stick with Kev.
The change I would make is Aloiai in on the bench, with MM taking Godinet's spot. I think MM looked sharper and more determined when he came on and this is probably a result of the competition for his spot.
Sue needs more game time in reggies as does McQueen. Gamble needs to show that he can play consistent good footy at the reserves level before he takes a spot ahead of those in the top 17. Noffa was dropped for a reason and 1 week in reggies isn't going to magically cure his shortcomings.
