What do we do with J-Rey??

Post by beachtiger » Sat 17 Mar, 2018 9:55 pm

Where does Josh Reynolds fit into this team when he comes back, there is no way Benji makes way for him at the moment.

From what I’ve seen he isn’t a hooker so have the roles switched where J-Rey is now the 14 with Benji starting at 6??

At this point he has to play in the 14. Marshall has been one of our best 2 weeks in a row and Brooks has built on his Round 1 performance with a great second showing. Ivan will favour team culture at this point and make him earn his spot.

You’ve answered it yourself. Can’t wait to have Liddle and Reynolds back...

6. Marshall
7. Brooks
9. Liddle

14. Reynolds

Benji is the first choice half from here as far as I'm concerned. Brooks also played well so you can't drop him. Reynolds may just have to wait his turn or wear the 14.

That's another huge thing about tonight, 3/4 of our first choice spine was missing. To think of all the Pre-Season preparation and time spent building combinations, yet we run out with just Brooks in terms of our best case scenario. Cleary wasn't lying when he said there is genuine depth here.

Don't change a wining team unless someone is injured

Lets see where we are in 3 weeks and lets see who is fit. Thats the point of great depth. Also remember we have scored 2 tries in 160 minutes so its not like our attack is humming

Marshall commented his position, and Thompson what a champion,
so with Liddle and Raynolds back:
6 Marshall
7 Brooks
9 Liddle

14 Raynolds

Perhaps we could have been better with Reynolds. Maybe even score a try or two
Its an opinion!

I don't see Benji playing 80 minutes for the whole season. I'm not convinced his body is up to it. But the halves could be Marshall/Reynolds, At this stage I'll go with whatever Ivan reckons is a fair thing...

Taylor looked to be on one leg last 5 minutes.

Reggie's for Reynolds and Liddle, no one deserves to lose their spot just because these two are fit, I wouldn't change a thing.
They'd have to bide their time if I was picking the team.

JR most likely will come back via the bench unless injuries occur.

Against the best defenders in the league
And don't forget
Roosters scored 1 against us
Storm scored two thanks to a penalty count heavily in their favour and one try when we had 12 on the park

Ivan will worry about that when it's time.

Anything could happen before Reynolds is ready to play.

Injuries to the current 17.....a wheel could fall off the bus.....
