There is a serious lack of intelligence in nrl headquarters which shows up most significantly in the referees department. Awarding penalties for slowing down play is playing into the coaches hands by further slowing down play, should be sin binned for a second offence.

Are the sideline referees for today's match competent enough to know when to raise their flag?

The refs should be made to attend a post match press conference or at the very least the refs boss and Teflon Todd should sit down on a Monday for a press conference.

There is no consistency, to much meddling by Todd and the rules have been eroded by this mentality that refs should have discretion to allow the game to flow. Wrong.

The rules are the rules. The biggest mistake the NRL made this year was to back down on their tuff stance had they stuck to it the teams would have got the message coming into the finals.
You can blame slothfield (news ltd gutter press) for that, he was ripping into it from game 1.
And don’t forget Cronulla benefit from a faster game - but I’m sure that didn’t enter his mind :brick:

If the referees do not subconsciously swing the result then bring on the conveniently blind linesmen and the Bunker to ensure the right team wins.

My money is on a Tiger's sin binning leading to a Souff Sinney win, so everyone can go home singing Glory Glory to John Sutton who be be announced MOTM in a pre-game ceremony.

Surely they will rig it tonight so that the Tigers are still in the finals race to maintain interest over the final rounds. The Robbie and Benji back together fairytale will be in full swing. The Tigers getting ready to repeat 05 and come from the clouds. The NRL will have headlines coming from everywhere.

You'd think so.... They wouldn't wanna rig it so the finals make-up is known 8 weeks out... Pretty senseless eh?

Lol wishful thinking! If they really cared about maintaining interest over the race for the finals then Canberra would've had a brilliant come from behind win last night.

Oh I don't know about that! I didn't think there could be anything worse then the 'try' given to the Roosters after 5 knock ons off the goal post, then last night happened!!! So God knows what's in store for us tonight playing one of the League's biggest darlings

They were ok but my daughter laughed when they called out Elijah on two separate occasions and he wasn't in the tackle. Once when he was off HIA.!

Cecchin was great last night. A few strong calls and a few strong non-calls that were all correct. Back to his best.

Well that’s what I thought but got rubbished for saying that, I’ll watch the full game tomorrow and judge them then.
Cecchin was pretty lenient when he penalised as about 5/6 times defending our line near the end.
Atkins would have binned someone.

Yep I was waiting for a sin bin but it never came. Think he let a few go for us as well. I was watching it live from behind the posts so hard to judge some of the calls. Interested to hear what you think after watching the replay.
