Look at the separation "rule" - it is not in the book!!

As such - Jones is wrong!!!

How can he be wrong if it is the rule book. Lay off the Kool-aid, your prejudice is showing.

But, the NRL will argue that throwing the ball backwards is permissible (its not).

And throwing the ball out forwards is a penalty, which it definately is anyway.

That is what Robert Finch will say, I bet you $100000000000000.

The rule book I have is a referee's examination book for 2009 which I got for my coaches ticket.
Does it cite what the relevant rule number is BB? I had a look earlier and couldn't find anything.

Wait so if Benji throws a wild pass out on the full or Beau is getting dumped towards the sideline and he chucks the ball but ends up going over the sidleine, that would be a penalty??

My first thoughts as well. As usual I think Jones has it arse-up... Sounds like one of the 30,000 union rules. I have NEVER seen anyone penalised for doing this in an NRL game.
is that a freudian slip ??

Jones is right, and id summons a guess that he would be right a lot more often than he is wrong............compared to those bagging him that is

Yes, Bug or KS...I think KS is more defending AJ  how embarrasing, than debating the rule

This is Wrong according to the boys on 2SM talkin sport. The only time this would be a penalty is if their was an intentional forward pass in the mix.

but that would be because an intentional forward pass is a penalty in the first place

So is a deliberate knock-down I believe. But when was the last time you saw that penalised?

Alan Jones has no care for the club that he effectively ruined - no clue about rugby league - and nothing else to say worth listening to![/quote]

How did Jones ruin Balmain?, everything I've ever read suggests that he bought a lot of sponsorship dollars and benefactors to the club, this is why they were reluctant to sack him and WHY Souths couldn't wait to snap him up.
He may have been an ordinary coach but don't hold that against him, Wayne Pearce took over from Alan and with a similar roster and look what happened, the old wooden spoon, not something that we ever were fond of!.
If he has nothing worth listening to then why is he one of the hightest paid commentators in the Country

Got it really right for Balmain in 1992 - when he sacked Freeman for Brian Smith genius!!!!

(Freeman won the 93 Dally M at the Roosters moron - and Balmain won the spoon in 94!!!!!!!)

Look at the Farenheit 451 debacle and his public toilet memoirs befors criticising those who know.

Sirro - you have clearly never even seen your namesake at his best (1986-1994)!!!

As for Leroy - he never brought a cent in sponsors to Balmain!!!! Ask Barnes - Elias - Trodden - Humphreys and they will all tell you the same!!!!! What did he do when he went to Souths??? Nothing - which is better than he did for us!!

Were your even alive then genius!!!!
