agree with this

Interesting Snipit in this mornings Tele

ONE punter appears to have a massive wrap on Parramatta's new signings Chris Hicks and Paul Whatuira, placing a $2000 bet at $26 on the weekend on the club to take out the 2011 NRL premiership.

The optimistic punter stands to collect a whopping $52,000 if Nathan Hindmarsh, Jarryd Hayne and the stuttering Eels can reproduce their late-season form from 2009.

Sportsbet has slightly better odds but has us as outright second favourite:

St George Illawarra Dragons 6.00
Wests Tigers 8.00
Sydney Roosters 8.50
South Sydney Rabbitohs 8.50
Canterbury Bulldogs 11.00
Melbourne Storm 13.00
New Zealand Warriors 14.00
Gold Coast Titans 16.00
Brisbane Broncos 17.00
Manly Sea Eagles 17.00
Parramatta Eels 17.00
Penrith Panthers 17.00
Canberra Raiders 21.00
Newcastle Knights 23.00
Nth Queensland Cowboys 41.00
Cronulla Sharks 67.00

I have slowly been accruing some bets on the Tiges to win the comp over the last couple of months. I got them at $10 on Thursday. Not sure why they have dropped to $8 in the last day. If the news about TNT is true, then we might drift out a few dollars.

The last time we were sub-$10 to win the comp at the start of the year was 2006. Let's pray we do better in 2011 than we did in 2006.

We are right up there, that's what matters. This will give the Tigs confidence going into the new season.

In 2005 when we were 150 to 1 Dad asks do you want to have 10 bucks each on them to win the comp just for the sake of it? Hmm na we'll just save ourselves the money. Gargh worst ten dollars i never spent.

We'll get better odds than $8 throughout the year.

I put 50 on at 81-1 that year in a silly state.

To paraphrase the comic book guy: Best. drunken. gamble. ever...
