Cecchin should go out as a champion - he is a fantastic ref.

No one deserves to be threaten because of their job.

The people here suggesting that refs should just learn to cop it have no idea. It’s fair enough for a crowd to yell out during a game, even the ritual of booing and jeering as they come off the field. Fair enough the media will analyse the game and point out what they think are errors (lets me honest about this and recognise that the media are wrong about the rules often.

The thing that is out of line is taking it off the field and acting someone and their family. Players wouldn’t put up with that and neither should the refs.

The way some people here are hard wired to think is simply amazing.
" As a referee you know what you are getting yourself into"
" But paid members have a right to voice there(sic) opinions"

Take a step back and then a good long, long think.

The constant fiddling with the rules during the season by the hierarchy leaves the referees in a no win situation.
Fans have long memories when you lose games based on one set of rules, only for that to be softened as the season progresses with a new crackdown in its place.
Consistency is impossible if their is no consistency within the framework of the rule book.

Exactly.

Since the rule changes mid season the sides with the best records are the Storm and the Roosters

You do realise Happy you have just put the kiss of death on both of them.
Today we saw a true champion in Winx, and a true bludger in Cleary!

Sad he received threats however, surely when you create a social media profile you do so knowing that you are inviting everyone to have an opinion of you and your performance and you will cop it from time to time.

Wonder why the AFP didn't knock on the doors of the people posting the threats?

Social media, the anabolic ingredient to opinions, the medium where people feel they have the right to say what ever they Want. YouTube comments are appauling at times, it could be some old guy with DIY pointers and somebody will criticise him for the part in his hair.

Greenberg is a germ, "that's how I want you to ref the game" what the, is that. Why is he commenting on how games are ref'ed. the rule book determines how games a ref'ed.

How Greenberg got the gig stills baffles me.
