Covering bases....
What I don’t understand is that Gus was appearing humble in offering up Nathan the chance to link with his dad and the whole league has been supportive of the move. Why wouldn’t the Tigers feel the same compassion for Ivan when or if they find out that Nathan wants to be loyal to the Panthers.
Why can it work one way and not the other?
There are other coach’s out there and believe it or not they are also better than Ivan...

Go is covering her bases. As in playing the emotional card.
But after all if they find out that in at the end of his current contract that Ivan has no intentions in continuing his job at the club why would they not consider releasing him early?.?.?

But as far as the other thing goes. Why is it ok for everyone to support Nathan to leave the panthers to link up with his dad but yet if his dad wanted to leave it wouldn’t appear just?

Here’s another conspiracy theory for all the tin foilers

What if what if what if the reason the club has been so quiet on the recruitment front the last few weeks is because we don’t have a coach for 2019 as of yet to do any recruiting.....
Yeah.I think you're onto something there. How good would it be if JT came back to rekindle old times with Robbie?
Ivan "Billy Beane from Moneyball" Cleary!

Well if Robbie is putting his foot down about playing on, we know there is only one coach brave enough to stand up to him

Seibold to Panthers ?
New coach new ideas are just what Gus is after
There is also speculation about seibolds future at souths
If this happens then I can see Bennett at souths
Tigers keep Cleary and Get Nathan

Can Gould hire Barrett or Cleary after their team misses out on the top 8 and bring them in to coach Penrith for the finals?
Its an opinion!

People are only supporting Nathan to move at the end of his contract not before. If Ivan wants to move on at the end of 2020 so be it.

Adn a coach leaving is not the same as a player leaving. A coach has built the organisation and put everything in place.

Its not even close.

Well he can only hire available coaches so unless either of those two can get out of their current contracts the answer is no.

Had a quick look at Lord Gus' presser this morning. Nothing of real substance.

- No decision made. Ciraldo a chance still
- 12 applications received overnight
- Won't say yes or no on any individual
- Suggested he hadn't been involved in discussions with "preferred candidate"
- Basically said Griffin wanted to be in charge and wouldn't listen to others

The bottom point alone would be alarming to a lot of potential coaches.

That is what i am asking. If they can get themselves out of their current contract can they legally coach Penrith in the finals this season?

Agreed any coach would want to be in charge and not have to be forced to take "advice" from anyone.
Its a well paid poisoned chalice at the panthers

I think you guys and most people commenting on this have it wrong.

What Gould is doing is modernising the game. Its the NFL model of coach and general manager, each has their own specific job and they both can specialise and give 100% focus to that job.

Rugby League moves very very slowly though so the media and others are writing it up as an issue.

It really is the way forward. Other clubs will follow suit before too long.
Its an opinion!
