Jaycar drops sponsorship after Mad monday dramas at the Bulldogs...

Post by TrueTiger » Fri 07 Sep, 2018 11:25 pm

Jaycar has cut all ties with the Bulldogs after the mad Monday fiasco at the Harbour View Hotel..effective immediately....

Some NRL players just dont understand how much companies put money into help their club....Dogs have had a history with repeat offences, including the Coffs Harbour affair and salary cap infringements..

This surely must be the last straw for them to clean up their act...Jaycar was worth an estimated 500,000 per year to them for the last decade..

The Canterbury Leagues club is struggling also because of a huge development plan....

Wonder how they will make up the financial loss of Jaycar.....

Didn’t we lose a sponsor? I’m sure tape was over a sponsors name on the jerseys last round

Especially given the owner of Jaycar is a big Wests Tigers fan.

Apparently Hap,the owner of Jaycar wants to float the company on the stock market ....he may want to give sponsorship away altogether...

Isn't there an existing thread? Floating basically means making stock available to the public in a large offer of stock. When businesses are privatised they often get floated. People put in an expression of interest to buy stock and the amount of interest dictates the share price. So the more people who want to buy in the more the share price and the more money raised.

At least that's my understanding of it. I'm not an economist though.

Simple definition:

Public float or free float represents the portion of shares of a corporation that are in the hands of public investors as opposed to locked-in stock held by promoters, company officers, controlling-interest investors, or government.

If he intends to float the company, it is highly likely that they will stop sponsoring all together, as this comes straight off the bottom line. This will make the float more attractive to investors.
