He has the lowest winning ratio of any long term coach in the history of the game.

Yeah but Smith and Kearney have....coached train wrecks just like Sheens.
But Sheens can turn it around yet these two cant?
They would have dfferent results coaching us, than coaching their own teams, much like Sheens has with his past ''train wrecks''
Good to see youve finally come round and agreed with me, you just dont even know it.

Please do I have to put up the stats of seasoned NRL coaches in the last 30 years to show what I mean??

not if you've heard Paul Osbourne interviewed. They've had a good yr and Kearney has done a great job as far as he's concerned. No surprize that Osbourne is an ex-Politician
to go from grand finalists to potential wooden spooners in the space of 2 yrs shows someone at that club is doing an awesome job

Since 05... 3 semis in 6 years = 50% head/tails call... even bet sounds good
Since 05... one grand final out of two semis = 50%... Brian smith would be more then happy to take 50% of his grand final apparences, sounds good..

in the last 2 seasons... made the semis twice in two years =100%

Conclusion.... Sheens is like wine just getting better with age. If it aint brocken dont fix it
15 years 3 semis equals 20%
Just curious but why is it 15 years? Sheens has been coaching since the mid eighties, hasn't he? That's 25 years, not 15. :?:
Because if you counted the years he has coached Penriff and Canberra, he made the semis regularly and won three premierships, and that would be an objective look at his coaching record. Objectivity has no place here.
Aaah. Thanks for (all) the explanations.

Bug Maybe thats why lots of coaches don't have long records Because most are garbage and couldn't win a chook raffle if they bought all the tickets let alone 50% of their games or an NRL premiership or 4 like Sheens

How can a whole forum continually get trolled by this guy? Honestly, half of his argument even he knows don't make sense, and yet everyone bites!

I think Sheens still makes questionable decisions, but you have to look at it this way. 3 years in a row we have played average for the first 17 or 18 rounds, and then had a very hot form period in the 2 months heading into the finals. We lost the the team with probably the most momentum ever accumulated in the NRL in Parra in 2009 and had a number of injuries which halted our run.

Last year we came within a point of the Grand Final, and this year we have a huge chance of being in a top 4 with 3 other teams who have performed consistently all season. Sheens is coaching us to make these charges, and whilst it's a struggle to watch some of those games in the opening 18 rounds, it's paying off year after year at the moment.

I just want to remind people when he coached at the Cowboys he was forced to coach with his hands tied. The club was run by a basket case board which forced both Tim Sheens and CEO Rabieh Krayem and several others to resigned on the same day! He took over another basket case of a club, the Wests Tigers and was given freedom to do what he knows best. We all know what he's achieved here and how strong our club is now, on and off the field. He's not perfect and has made some questionable decisions that still have us scratching our heads today but I'm glad we've got him.

The Fonz has certainly done some good things. His development of LUI is one that is a stand out.

But he has ruined seasons with his stubborness.

Good point. Also, if he wasn't coach for the games he lost, his stats would be even higher.
