New Zealand squad for next test

Post by Tacky » Sun 30 Apr, 2017 6:58 pm

Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Adam Blair, Jesse Bromwich (c), Kenny Bromwich, Kieran Foran, David Fusitu’a, Shaun Johnson, Jordan Kahu, Issac Luke, Simon Mannering, Kodi Nikorima, Russell Packer, Kevin Proctor, Jordan Rapana, Brandon Smith, Jason Taumalolo, Martin Taupau, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Dean Whare

That's a really strong squad. Should be a good game.

Brandon Smith

NZ squad always throws up an unusual selection.
Melbourne Storm backup hooker apparently. Matt McIllwrick can consider himself unlucky.

Yeah it's a really good squad, although the centres and second row will be well behind Australia. I'd expect something like this:

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. Jordan Rapana
3. David Fusitu’a
4. Dean Whare
5. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
6. Kieran Foran
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Jesse Bromwich (c)
9. Issac Luke
10. Martin Taupau
11. Kevin Proctor
12. Simon Mannering
13. Jason Taumalolo

14. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
15. Adam Blair
16. Russell Packer
17. Kodi Nikorima

Big bodies up the middle all game...

He's probably there just to gain some experience. I doubt he'll get any game time. Mcilwrick is probably a bit too old to fill that kind of role.
