By memory favourites don't really perform that well do they? When was the last time a favourite won the title that year (excluding the latest Storm debacle).
I'm pretty sure the Dragons would have almost started as favourites at the start of 2010
The Eels were the favourites at the start of 2010 after their run to the GF in 2009. Maybe it depends on who the bookie is?

Interesting this.

despite being premiership favorites I wonder what our odds would be head to head against Melbourne, Brisbane, or the Dragons?

No bookie would put us as head to head favorites against those teams.

I don't like this kind of expectation especially with our lengthy history of inconsistency..

It is time to match the expectations of ourselves and the bookies
No excuses Everyone needs to play to expectations and we CAN do this

Outright favourites? Can't remember that happening before. And we don't even have a set halfback for 2012...

We were Premiership favourites in the week leading up to the Grand Final
Granted, we've never been favourties at the start of the year

We have heaps of recognized halfbacks
Problem is they can only be recognized by Wests Tigers fans

Ridiculous. We shouldn't be favourites without a recognised 1 or 7.

Obviously the bookies are expecting the Broncos to struggle post-Lockyer, but I beg to differ. I still think they will go really well. I guess with the current Manly fiasco, the Dragons losing Bennett and Boyd, Melbourne losing Blair and New Zealand being such an enigma, I can see why they have gone for us as favourites early on. Doesn't mean I like it though. We may not have a recognised halfback, at present, but compared to the ones mentioned above, the loss of Lui is quite insignificant.
Sooner or later, next year has to be this year - Ricksen

For this to come to pass Farah and Marshall need to play out the season, and the likes of Lawrence, Blair, Ellis, Galloway need to stay fit. Tiger supporters well know that this is not a given.

why wouldn't the Storm be favourites? no halfback at this stage for us, it doesn't make too much sense for us to be favourites

I agree tigerdave. Storm should be favourites
Year of last finals appearance:
2018 - Roosters, Storm, Rabbitohs, Sharks, Panthers, Broncos, Dragons, Warriors
2017 - Eels, Sea Eagles, Cowboys
2016 - Raiders, Bulldogs, Titans
2013 - Knights
2011 - Tigers

The Storm come from Melbourne. That could be the reason.

Bulldogs $15 with Foran next year. Would be a good bet??? Think he will help them go a long way. But Tigers will stop them!
Do not go where the path may lead go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
