BMM

Post by hybrid_tiger » Mon 02 Apr, 2012 10:00 am

Alot of people wondered what the deal with this guy was in the past two years, as he has been very highly rated yet never made much of an impact in FG up until now.

IMO he has been one real positive to come out of a poor season so far.

His performances have been excellent. He runs harder and straighter than Fifita ever did, always dents the line and every one of his hit ups makes an impact. Even though he hasn't made a line break yet, he always drags defenders with him and has really strong leg drive. He's also been pretty good in defense IMO, no glaring missed tackles or bad reads etc.

He really looks like a player we can build a dominant forward pack around going forward.

I like that he is equally comfortable in the prop or backrow slot.

I agree, most impressed with his attitude and the impact he is making on the field, our foward pack looks far more threatening when he and moors are on the field.

He played big minutes yesterday and took it in his stride. He looks stronger and fitter, but most of all he looks confident!

Agree with everything you have said Hybrid.

Too true, looks like he is developing nicely.
It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

Yeah Melon Masila's earned his spot for the rest of the season

Our forwards were so much better yesterday, they really took it up to the monster Souths pack. It makes the loss so much harder to take.

Ellis being out is going to kill us, again

Seems to be making more meters that groat was, and always seems to bend the line.

Good points Hybrid. Watching him against Newtown in the trials this year, he looked disinterested and lazy. Luckily he has shown plenty of hustle in FG though. Watching him previously in the NYC, he was always used with devastating effect out wide as he also has very good leg speed. We're occasionally seeing him hit the ball up wide of the ruck at the moment, but he's also proving useful in the front row and hitting it up the guts.

I do like the look of the Tigers backrow forwards coming through over the next couple of years also. I can see the likes of Kyle Lovett, Mosese Fotuiaka, Brendan Santi and Andrew Vela all pushing for FG spots.

Maybe if Galloway is back this week BMM can start in the second row with Bell and Groat prop rotation

I no he's along way off being anything like Garth Ellis but if can get his fitness up he has the size and speed to perhaps be the man that becomes the new Ellis. Maybe not next year but with the right attitude I think he could be.

He only knows one way and that is forward. Definitely deserves his spot in the 17 every week and would be good to see him start in the backrow in the absence of Ellis
Heighno needs to take note of how BMM runs - leg drive at the line

Yes ... Was very impressed with BMM yesterday .... I thought he was our best forward.

We really need him to step up especially whe we are in a rough patch.

I think he has to get a starting spot. Play him at 2nd row for the rest of the season. He'll make some mistakes but he has been impressive.

Hard power running. He is exactly what we need.

Will be interesting to see if he gets a starting spot this week, he was very good against Souths.
