RIP Les Murray

Post by Tigerheart_returns » Mon 31 Jul, 2017 3:15 pm

Truly one of the great football broadcasters and connoisseur of the round ball game in this country. Sad to see him pass away. My memories of him starting to talk football is a cricket / rugby dominated media will remain with me forever. RIP, you will be missed. :master:

Yeah tis a shame. Apparently he's been unwell for a while.

Descansar en paz Mr. Football.
And the sky is filled with light, can you see it?
And the black is really white, if you believe it.
And the longing that you feel, you know none of this is real;
You will find a better place, in this twilight...

Cuando llegue el día, y estoy parado a las puertas del cielo, será Dios pidiendo mi perdón...

The doctor may have told him yesterday that he will be going home shortly.
Malcolm Knox: What has happened this week is a pity for the Tigers, a pity for Jason Taylor and a pity for Robbie Farah, who had achieved more than the Big Four put together but was somehow turned into collateral damage. (SMH 25-26 March, 2017)

A true gentlemen commentator.
Very sad to hear of his passing.
Will be missed.
Now having a cocktail on the great verandah in the sky, with Johnny Warren.
